Dear Parents/Guardians,

Festive greetings from TCISKL! We would like to draw your attention to the following matters:

1. Chinese New Year School Holiday (31 January - 4 February)


- Please note the school will be closed for CNY celebration from 31 January to 4 February
(Monday to Friday).
- Lessons will resume as usual on 7 February (Monday).
- Please be reminded for Year 3 to Year 5 (Primary) and Year 7 to Year 9 (Secondary), as
per the rotational schedule, Group B will be returning to school physically and Group A
will attend lessons virtually.
- We would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy Chinese New Year.

2. Returning to School After CNY School Holiday


- In view of the upcoming CNY school holiday, the school anticipates that there will be an
increase of movement or travelling amongst the school community. We require all staff
and students who are returning to school physically on 7 February 2022 to perform a
COVID-19 RTK-AG self-test on 6 February 2022 and upload the result to the below link:

- Students who tested negative may attend school as usual.
- Students who tested positive must NOT attend school. Please contact the COVID-19
Assessment Centre or private health facilities for clinical status examination.
- All parents are urged to monitor the children and inform us immediately should anyone
be tested positive. Please be informed that for all health-related emergencies, the
school can be reached at 03-80907898.

3. National COVID-19 Testing Strategy (Applicable to Primary and Kindergarten students)


- The school continues to practice the periodic testing practice in accordance to the
National Testing Strategy.

- Please refer to the name list of the students selected for testing for each week for
February. We seek the cooperation of all parents to ensure that you check the name list
and if your child is selected for the random sampling, it is COMPULSORY to perform the
COVID-19 RTK-AG self-test for your child at home on the stipulated date.
- Please submit the result by 12 noon, on the day before returning to school physically.
Please take a photo of the test result with name, class and date clearly stated on the
test-kit. Please submit through the below form:

4. Reminders on Pick-up and Drop-off


- Please be informed that officers from the Ministry of Education (MoE) were in school
on 26 January 2022 (Wednesday) on an official visit. During their visitation, we were
reminded that in accordance with the SOP, parents are not allowed to alight from the
car during pick-up or drop-off.
- We would like to stress again and seek the full cooperation from all parents/guardians
NOT to park and alight from your car.
- Your understanding and patience with the traffic flow is much appreciated as we work
together in keeping every child safe.

5. 2022 IGCSE Mock Oral Examination (Applicable to Year 10 students ONLY)


- Year 10 students are reminded that the IGCSE Mock Oral Exam for Malay and Chinese
Language will be held from 8 to 11 February 2022 (Tuesday to Friday).
- Year 10 students are reminded to do their revision diligently.

6. English Enrichment Classes (Applicable to Year 6 students ONLY)


- Please be informed that the school will be providing extra English classes for our current
Year 6 students after the Chinese New Year holiday.
- Year 6 English teachers will be distributing a printed letter to current Year 6 students.
Parents are advised to read and understand the details. Please return the completed
reply slip to your child’s English teacher by 10 February 2022 (Thursday).

7. Changes in Library Period (Applicable to Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5 students ONLY)
- Parents please take note that there will be changes in the second period of the library
lessons for students from Year 3, 4 and 5.
- Please note effective 7 February 2022 (Monday), the changes below will take place for
Virtual Library lessons:
i) First period of the lesson will be live-streamed as the teacher conducts the lesson.
ii) Second period of the lesson will not be live-streamed. Students will be assigned
reading tasks or activities. Students in school physically will read in the library, while
students at home will read at home.
- Please be reminded to check for the updated Lesson Summary uploaded to the Google
Classroom HRT folder.

8. Clear Your Plate Campaign
- The school has recently launched the “Clear Your Plate” Campaign. The objective of this
campaign is to create awareness of the environmental impact of food waste, to cultivate
gratefulness for what is on your plate and to take action in reducing personal food waste.
- We would like to invite all parents and students to take part in this campaign in
developing a sustainable eating habit that benefits the environment and makes a
difference in our future.

9. Bamboo Bank Returning Home


- The School will be arranging for “Bamboo Bank Returning Home” sessions between 7 to
18 February 2022.
- Students’ Humanistic Culture teachers or Homeroom teachers will inform the date to
bring their bamboo banks for the respective classes.
- Let us gather our donation and love to help the stateless children in East Malaysia.

请大家注意以下事项:

1. 农历新年学校假期(1 月 31 日至 2 月 4 日)
- 为了迎接新春佳节,学校将于 1 月 31 日至 2 月 4 日(周一至周五)停课一周。
- 新年假期以后,2 月 7 日(星期一)照常上课。
- 请注意,小学三年级至五年级,以及中学七年级至九年级的学生,根据轮换时间表,
B 组学生将回校参与实体课程,A 组学生将参与居家网课。
- 校方藉此祝大家农历新年快乐!

2. 农历新年学校假期后回校
- 鉴于农历新年学校假期即将来临,学校预计许多家庭将会出门活动或旅行。所有于
2022 年 2 月 7 日返回学校参与实体课程的学生务必在 2022 年 2 月 6 日进行 COVID-19
RTK-AG 检测以确保安全。请上传自测结果到以下链接:

- 检测呈阴性的学生可以照常上学。
- 测试呈阳性的学生则不应上学。请联系 COVID-19 评估中心或私人医疗机构进行进一

3. 国家 COVID-19 测试策略(仅限于小学及幼儿园学生)
- 校方配合国家 Covid-19 检测策略(NTS),继续实施小学和幼儿园学生的定期检测。
- 请参阅二月份抽样测试的学生名单。我们寻求所有家长的合作,请确保您检查名单,
如果您的孩子被选中进行抽样测试,请在规定的日期,在家中为您的孩子进行 COVID-
19 RTK-AG 自检。
- 请在返校前一天中午 12 时之前提交结果。请清楚注明日期、姓名及班级并为测试结

4. 温馨提醒:上学及放学的接送 - 请勿停泊下车
- 教育部官员于 2022 年 1 月 26 日(星期三)到学校观察时提醒校方要根据标准作业程
序,父母在接送期间不得下车。
- 校方再次强调并寻求所有家长/监护人的高度配合,放学接送时段,请勿停泊下车。
- 感恩您的善解和耐心,确保每个孩子的安全,是大家的责任。

5. 2022 年 IGCSE 模拟口试(仅限于十年级学生)
- 十年级学生请注意,IGCSE 马来语和华语模拟口试将于 2022 年 2 月 8 日至 11 日(星
期二至星期五)举行。
- 提醒十年级的学生复习。

6. 英语强化班(仅限于六年级学生)
- 学校将在农历新年假期后为六年级学生提供额外的英语课程。
- 六年级英语老师将分发公函于所有六年级的学生。恳请家长详读内容,并于 2022 年 2
月 10 日(星期四)之前填妥的回条交给您孩子的英语老师。

7. 图书馆节的调整(仅限于三、四、五年级)
- 请注意,三、四和五年级学生的图书馆课的第二节会有变化。
- 自 2022 年 2 月 7 日(星期一)起,线上图书馆课程调整如下:
i) 第一节课将在老师授课时进行直播。
ii)第二节课不会直播。学生将被分配阅读任务或活动。实体上课的学生会在图书馆
阅读,而居家网课的学生会在家自行阅读。
- 提醒大家到班导师谷歌教室下载更新的课程链接表。

8. 光盘行动
- 学校最近发起了“光盘行动”。活动的目的是提高学生对浪费食物造成环境破坏的认
知、培养感恩心并付诸行动减少个人食物的浪费。
- 校方恳请所有的家长和学生参与这项活动,以培养一种可持续的饮食习惯,有利于环
境并改变我们的未来。

9. 竹筒回娘家
- 学校将在 2022 年 2 月 7 日至 18 日期间安排“竹筒回娘家”活动。
- 各班的人文老师或班导师将告知学生需携带竹筒到校的日期。
- 让我们汇聚大家的善心与祝福,帮助东马的无国籍儿童。
