In groups of 5, take 20 minutes to explain how the following items may be an issue in
making knowledge and politics, trying to make connections among them. How do they
relate to each other?

Fake News Confirmation Bias

For the discussion, consider the following questions:

• To which extent are knowledge-making methods in political science and human science
related?
• What challenges are raised by the dissemination and/or communication of knowledge?
• On what grounds might we doubt a claim?
• How can a community of knowledge become dangerous in the production of
knowledge in politics?
• Is bias inevitable in the production of knowledge?

Once you’re done, choose a speaker for the group, who will share the team’s insight with
the rest of the class.
Everyone must upload their findings in writing.
