I. OBJECTIVES
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
1. Knowledge:
- write a letter applying for a voluntary role.
2. Competences:
- enhance their skills at writing a formal email with detailed elements.
3. Personal qualities:
- proactively participate in voluntary work for their better-looking CVs in
the future.
II. MATERIALS
blackboard, chalk, PowerPoint slides, laptop, projector, projection board
III. PROCEDURES
1. Activity 1: WARM-UP (3 mins)
a. Objectives:
- T introduces the new lesson and set the scene for Ss to acquire new language.
- T gets Ss' attention at the beginning of the class.
- T activates Ss’ background knowledge.
b. Content:
- Email presenting.
c. Products:

- Ss work as the whole class.

- T shows the picture.
- T asks the Ss what it is.
- T has the Ss guess how many
elements in the email.

2. ACTIVITY 2: PRESENTATION (12 mins)
a. Objectives:
- Ss are aware of the element orders and the paragraph arrangements in an
email.
b. Content:
- Task 1 and 2.
c. Products:
- Ss work in pairs to complete the tasks.

Task 1: Read the formal email. Match elements a-g with parts 1-7 of the
email. (4 mins)
