Question1: Write down 7 Steps to Spill Management.
Answer: 1) Never assume.
2) Assess Area.
3) Identify Spill.
4) Respond.
5) Clean Up.
6) Decontaminate.
7) Reporting.
Question NO 2: Write Down Contents of a Spill Kit.
Answer:
 Laminated SOP for spill clean-up.
 Concentrated disinfectant.
 Spray bottle for disinfectant.
 Biohazard signs for laboratory doors.
 Autoclave bags/ waste box/ Container
 Absorbent materials / Paper towels
 Sharps container.
 Small disposable dustpan and broom.
 PPE –N95 respirators, gown, shoe covers, gloves (S, M, L), Eyewear, head
cover.
 Signage for the door.
 Adhesive tape (masking, package)
 Pencil / Pen.
 Forceps.
Question NO 3: Write down Classification of noise with Example
Answer:
i) Transport Noise.
Example: Traffic, Aircraft, Rail Traffic noise.
ii) Occupational Noise.
Example: Industrial noise.
iii) Neighborhood Noise.
Example: TV, Radio, Music system.

Question NO 4: Write Down Effects of Occupational Noise. How to Control of

Noise?
Answer:
 Physiological effects
a) Hearing impairment
b) Hypertension
c) Heart disease
d) Lowering the concentration and effect on memory.
e) Muscular strain and nervous breakdown.
 Psychological Effects
a) Depression and Fatigue.
b) Mental stress.
c) Frustration.
d) Sleep Interference.
Control of noise:
1. Engineering Control:
a) Substitution: Replace noisy equipment with quieter
b) Modification: Modify the way in which the equipment operates so that it
generates less noise.
c) Isolation: Having them work in enclosed room. Segregate noisy areas with sound
barriers.
d) Maintenance: Maintenance of equipment and the engineering controls that have
been implemented is very important or the improvements in noise level will be
lost.
2. Administrative Control:
a) Rotating work schedules: Purposely to have amount of time that a worker is
exposed to noise is within acceptable limits.
b) Provision of training: Noise awareness training.
c) Warning sign: Warning sign at all entrances to the high noise area.
Question No 5: Write down Types of Vibration with Example.
Answer:
 Free vibration- Occurs when a mechanical system is set off with an initial input
and then allowed to vibrate freely.
Example: Simple pendulum.
 Forced vibration- When a time- varying disturbance (load, displacement or
velocity) is applied to a mechanical system.
Example: Shaking washing machine due to an imbalance, transportation
vibration ( Caused by truck engine, Spring , road atc).

Question No 6: Write Down Effects of Vibration. How to Control of Vibration?

Answer:
1. Effects of HAV
a) Vibration- include white finger (VWF).
b) Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (Raynaulds).
c) Vascular.
d) Neural.
2. Effects of WBV
a) Shakiness.
b) Insomnia.
c) Headache.
d) Fatigue.
Control Of vibration:
a) Limit the time spent by workers on a vibrating surface.
b) Mechanically isolate the vibrating source or surface to reduce exposure.
c) Ensure that equipment is well maintained to avoid excessive vibration.
d) Install vibration damping seats.
Question No 7: Write down 5 types of Hazardous Substances.
Answer:
1. Acids
2. Glues
3. Caustic Substances
4. Paint
5. Petroleum Products.

Question No 8: Write Down 10 Rules for forklift Safety.

Answer:

a) Ensure only trained employees operate forklift.

b) Inspect the forklift before using it.
c) Use at a reasonable speed.
d) Be mindful of your surroundings.
e) Wear appropriate clothing.
f) Always load up facing the heaviest part of the machine.
g) Always follow the proper load technique.
h) Be mindful of other people.
i) Avoid abrupt stops.
j) Always park at a designated spot.

Question No 9: How many types of Breathing Apparatus and write down

factors affecting the suitability of PPE?

Answer: There are 2 Common types of Breathing Apparatus.

a) Self- Contained BA.
b) Compressed Airline BA.
Factors affecting the suitability RPE:
 Concentration of the contaminant and its hazardous nature.
 Physical form of the substance (e.g. dust or vapour).
 Level of protection offered by the RPE.
 Presence or absence of normal oxygen concentrations.
 Duration of time that it must be worn.
 Compatibility with other items of PPE that must be worn.
 Shape of the user's face and influence on fit.
 Facial hair that might interfere with an effective seal.
 Physical requirements of the job, such as the need to move freely.
 Physical fitness of the wearer.

Question No 10: How to Control of Hazardous Substances?

Answer:
 Exposure to hazardous substances should be prevented or, if that's not possible,
controlled below any relevant Occupational Exposure Limit (OEL).
 A general hierarchy of controls can be applied to controlling exposure.
 Eliminate or substitute the substances.
 Change the process.
 Reduce exposure time.
 Enclose or segregate.
 Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV).
 Dilution ventilation.
 Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE).
 Other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
 Personal hygiene.
 Health surveillance, including biological monitoring.
