UV-C Background information
How does disinfection by UV-C radiation work on microorganisms?

UV-C radiation is targeting directly the DNA / RNA or The highest relative germicidal effectiveness for this process is
pathogens. The photons of the high energetic radiation can at a wavelength or around 265 nm. It does differ from

bond. composition. Nevertheless the averaged germicidal response
curve is used in most cases and defined by IESNA and DIN.

build with significant higher
efficiencies with LEDs
compared to lamp systems
• Batten fixtures have only
simple optics and the

• Municipal water treatment
offers only a small benefit for
the LED from the application
efficiency.
