Exploring Model Views

Before you begin…

Please download all the Dataset files from the course Resources and place them on the root of
your C: drive.
You can also click the Paperclip icon, in the Let Me Try tile to download the file for this exercise.

Note: if you are not using the latest version of Revit, but instead an earlier version, then
do not try to open the exercise’s .rvt file. It is saved to the latest version. Open the .ifc file
instead.
Note: this Let Me Try exercise does not need a separation of Metric and Imperial files
because there are no steps involving numerical values.
1. Select and open Revit Architectural Model.rvt from the dataset folder, located in: L1 –
Introduction to Autodesk Revit Architecture.

2. Examine the tab names on the ribbon.

3. Click each tab and examine the panels they contain. Notice the organization and contents of
each tab and panel.

4. On the Infocenter toolbar at the upper-right corner of the screen, expand the drop-down
