(40-Hour DOLE/PCAB Prescribed Training Course)

The course aims to prepare the participants to formulate and implement occupational safety and health programs
in construction industries. We coach participants to be Globally competitive as AMO’s, Safety Officers/Engineers
and Managers.

It is a training requirement per PCAB, DILG, DPWH and for the appointment of a Safety Officer and for
DOLE accreditation as OSH Practitioner,

Pursuant to the provisions of Presidential Decree (PD) No. 442 otherwise known as the Labor Code of the
Philippines, Rule 1030 of the Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHS), Department Order (DO) No.
13 of the Department of Labor and Employment and Republic Act No. 11058 "Strengthening Compliance to
Occupational Safety and Health Standards and providing penalties thereof“ and Board Resolution No. 040 series
of 2014 of Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board (PCAB), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

Module 7 - Construction Machinery (Crane Safety)
 To equip participants with the knowledge on basic crane operation
and rigging associated with the operation of cranes.
 To provide instruction on the safe rigging and operation of cranes
and hoisting units.
Module 8 – Fall Protection, Working at Heights 1 hour and

 Identify the components of a personal fall arrest system
 Demonstrate how to don and doff a full body harness
 Inspect and care for personal fall arrest systems before and after
use
Module 9 – Temporary Structures (Lecture) 2 hours
 To enhance the knowledge and skills of the participants on Scaffolds Safety
including erection/installation and inspection of Scaffolds, Working safety on
heights including rescue and basic standard safety procedures on handling
ladders and eventual certification from TESDA NC II as Scaffold Erector and
competent person in compliance to Department Order No. 128-13 of the
Department of Labor and Employment

Module 13 - Demolition Safety 1 hour and 15
 To establish a safe work procedure during demolition operations. minutes
Module 14 – Personal Protective Equipment 1 hour and 15
 Principles and Applications minutes
Module 15 – Routine Site Safety Inspection 1 hour
 To instruct the participant on identifying unsafe acts & conditions in
the workplace before these turn into accidents or work-related
illness.
Module 16 – Presentation of Inspection Results Workshop………….. 1 hour and 30

Module 17 – Job Hazard Analysis
 To teach the participant how to analyze jobs in the workplace and
spot possible sources of accidents in these different tasks.
Module 18 – Accident Causation (Risky Workplace and Risky 2 hours and
Workers): Accident Investigation 45 minutes
a.Discuss the importance of accident investigation.
b.Enumerate the types of accidents to be reported.
c. Explain the basic procedure in the conduct of accident investigation.
d.Know how to document an accident investigation.
 Accomplish the Work Accident/Illness Report (WAIR) and
Annual Accident/ Illness Exposure Data Reports (AEDR)
based on cases given
 Compute sample Severity Rate (SR) and Frequency Rate
(FR)

Module 19 – Tool Box Meeting 1 hour


 To perform new tasks safely, reminders for old tasks not recently
performed, and an opportunity to discuss possible safety issues
that have arisen on the job
Module 20 – Role of Safety Officers 1 hour
 Seeking to utilize knowledge of health, safety and environmental
protocols to foster compliance with safety procedures and
protocols, and ensure a safe work place at all times
Module 21 - Communicating OSH 2 hours
a.Explain the roles of safety officers in the conduct of OSH trainings;
b.Enumerate and discuss the stages of the training cycle;
c. Discuss basic presentation and facilitating skills; and
d. Prepare a training plan for their company.
Module 22 - Responses to OSH Issues and Concerns 1 hour and 30

a.Define what is emergency (natural/ man-made) and disaster
b.Identify the elements of an effective Emergency Preparedness
Program;

levels of the organization in implementing the OSH program;
and
c. Review how to fill out the DOLE reportorial requirements
correctly.
