Objectives
Objectives correspond with PA State Common Core Standards listed above (SWBAT…)

- Students will be able to understand the spelling words that are given to them and be able to come up
with a sentence for each of them.

Lesson Introduction: (5-7 min)


Activate background knowledge & set purpose

- Students are in groups, and each get 12-13 minutes at different groups depending on what group they are
in is when they will come to the back table to work on the spelling word code and writing a sentence.

Activities/Procedures: (25-30min)
Lesson Plans are conducive to student achievement and focus on PA State CC standards and objectives

- The students will have a worksheet with a coded word on it that they will need to match the letter to the
code to be able to complete the word. Once that is done, they will have to be able to use whatever word
they figured out into a sentence. There are three groups the lions, bears, and penguins. The lions are the
lower group, the bears are the middle and the lions are the higher group. All three groups will have
different words that they will be working on but all three will be doing the same kind of worksheet.

Closing& Assessment: (5-7 min)


Restate purpose & assess comprehension; met objectives?

- The students will have to clean up what they were using and make sure to get their charts if they have
any signed before they are able to leave.
