Research Proposal

I. Project Title: How Lululemon benefits from social media’s addictive tactics.

II. Research Question(s): How do companies in general benefit from social media? What does

Lululemon do specific to their company on social media that outshines others? What are the

addictive tactics of social media and how do companies exploit them?

III. Statement of Significance (1-2 Paragraphs): For this research paper I am going to study

the benefits that social media has on companies, specifically Lululemon. I want to know how

Lululemon promotes their products, as well as, what they do to promote their products that

makes them so popular compared to their competitors. This topic is important to other

researchers to care about because this information can be useful next time someone goes online

to find clothes they like or something they want to buy and they run into one of the addictive

tactics that is being used to make them consume more.

IV. Research design/description of study:For my primary research I am going to firstly go on

Google Scholar and try to find articles that may have previously done case studies on my topic.

Secondly, I am going to ask some of my research questions ot my girlfriend and see her opinion,

since she is an avid Lululemon consumer. Lastly, I am going to scroll on TikTok and Instagram

and look at 2-3 posts on each platform from Lululemon and compare and contrast their

marketing tactics on these websites.
