I’d like to welcome Ryan and his Petone side here at Martin Luckie today.

ABOUT PETONE FOOTBALL CLUB


Petone Football Club was formed as Petone The club’s achievements include:

trace their roots back earlier than this, Petone Mens:

is the oldest football club in Wellington
• 1 x Central League: 1990

The Club organises the annual pre-season Hilton • 1 x U19s National Youth Championships: 2021
Petone Tournament, attracting entries from clubs in the
Wellington region since its inception in 1955. It is an
established part of the football calendar and in 2024
will celebrate its 70th anniversary.

Founded 60 years ago by the Apollon Club, Olympic has remained true to its
traditions despite going through various name changes with Apollon and CYFC
giving way to the present day Olympic in 1983. Over the last 25 years Olympic
has become a growing force in football, challenging long established Wellington
Clubs. Olympic won the Chatham Cup 2009 and Central League in 1991, 2010,
2016, 2021 and 2022.
