MICROS - HOW TO REFUND A CREDIT CARD - QSR

This job-aid will provide you with all the steps to refund a credit card for quick
serve restaurants.

Please note: This will only work with Credit Cards.

1. On the Drive Thru or Take Out till, swipe your Manager/Supervisor card and
start a new check.

2. Hit the “Edit Check” button and select “TRANS VOID”. Then, press the
Previous button.

3. Enter in the same menu items that are on the original check. Select a
reason to proceed.

4. If the credit card is present, on the pay screen, tap Payment Card.
Instruct the guest to follow the prompts on the terminal. It will be the
same process, just the amount will be negative.

5. If the card is not present, on the pay screen hit the “CC Manual Pay”
button. Please note: button location will vary based on which version of the
pay screen the store uses.

6. IPP320 will ask to enter the Account #, on the screen,


enter in the credit card number and hit the OK
button.

7. Key in the Expiry Date and hit the OK button.

8. Depending on the card, it may also ask for the CVV


number. If it does, key it in and hit the OK button.

9. Approve/decline or error will show up on the POS Screen and receipt


should print.
