Research Setting: Hospitals, North and Unakoti District of Tripura

Target Population: Nursing Personnel.

Sample and Sampling Technique: 60 sample will be selected by using convenience Sampling
Technique.

Inclusion Criteria: The study included Nursing personnel who were working at Dharmanagar
District Hospital, Dharmanagar, North Tripura and Unakoti District Hospital, Kailashahar
could read and write English who were present during data collection

Exclusion Criteria: The study excluded Nursing personnel-who were not willing to
participate.

Who are not working at these Hospitals.

Development of the tool:

The tool for the present study will be developed after extensive review of literature and
experts' opinion.
Part-I: Demographic proforma:

This section consists of 07 items describing the characteristics of Nursing personnel such as
age, education, gender,

Part-II: Structured knowledge questionnaire:

This section consists of 25 items used to assess the knowledge regarding the cord blood
banking among nursing personnel working at DDH and UDH
Validity of the tool: Content validity of the tool will be determined by experts' opinion and
suggestion on relevance of items. Tool will be given to nursing experts in the field of
Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing.
Reliability of the tool: For reliability the tool will be administered to 30 Nursing personnel
who fulfil the eligibility criteria. The reliability coefficient of the tool structured questionnaire
will be obtained by test- retest method.

Pilot Study: Pilot study will be conducted on 10% of the sample size.

Data Collection Method: Data collection will be carried out in the month of January/
February 2024. Before data collection permission will be obtained from CMO and MS for
respective hospitals. Data will be obtained from 60 nursing personnel by using Structured
Questionnaire

Ethical Consideration:

i. Approval will be obtained from the Research and Ethical Committee members of the
Institution.

ii. Permission for data collection will be taken from CMO and MS for respective hospitals.

iii. Informed written consent will be obtained from individual subject before
administering the tool.

iv. Subjects will be informed that their participation is purely voluntary and they can
withdraw from the study at any time.

v. Confidentiality of the information and anonymity of subjects will be maintained.
