2.2 Enabling digital substation solutions with advanced protection, control, monitoring and system functionality

• 670 series products support higher and flexible communication capability

- Up to 6 Ethernet ports
- Several redundancy methods, support for HSR, RSTP added
- The 6 Ethernet ports can be configured as single or as pairs in HSR/PRP/RSTP mode
- Support for up to 6 routes/gateways
- All Ethernet ports support multiple protocols and can be configured easily with PCM600
• Support for up to 8 Sample Value (SV) streams on all 670 products
• Support for Precision Time Protocol (PTP) based on IEC 61850-9-3 profile
• Busbar protection REB670 supports bays with inputs via conventional/process bus/mix of

• Complete set of current and voltage-based unbalance protection for shunt capacitor banks
• New distance to fault location function based on double end measurement
• Current/voltage harmonic monitoring functionality to monitor harmonic distortion up to 9th harmonics,
total harmonic distortion, and total demand distortion
• New fault component monitoring function captures peak and RMS current and voltage at the time of fault and
reports via IEC 61850
