FOCUS POINTS:
At the end of the lesson, you
should be able to:
1. Compare characteristics of the three states of
matter: solid, liquid, and gas.
2. Classify materials as to solid, liquid, and gas.
3. Practice proper and safe handling of solid,
liquid, and gas materials found at home.
SOLID
▪ Solids have mass.
▪ Solids have definite
shape.
▪ Solids can be held.
▪ Solids occupy definite
space.
LIQUID
▪ Liquids have mass.
▪ Liquids occupy definite
space.
▪ Liquids have no definite
shape.
▪ Liquids flow. They
cannot be held for too
long.

▪ Gases have mass.
▪ Gases occupy indefinite
space.
▪ Gases have no definite
shape.
