Dear Parent/Carer,

Re. Strike Action – 1st February 2023

Further to our communication on Friday and, with liaison with our union
representatives, we have reviewed the provision that we are able to offer tomorrow,
1st February, and will be delivering online learning to students in years 8-13 where
possible. All year 7 students are expected to attend the school site from 9:40am and
follow their school timetable, finishing their school day at 2.55pm.

Staff that are taking strike action are not legally required to notify the school;
however, some staff have informally notified us of their intent, and it is looking highly
likely that a significant proportion of our teaching staff will be taking action. The
safety of our students is our highest priority; this decision has been made to ensure
students on site can be managed appropriately.

Due to the number of staff that may not be in, online live lessons are likely be
intermittent. Additionally, we are uploading remote English, Maths and Science
learning resources for students in years 8 and 9. Students in years 10, 11 and Sixth
Form are encouraged to use the time proactively and work independently on their
respective qualifications.
