Research Methods

Experimental method of research was used in this study. Experimental method of

research is a technique that involves manipulation of condition for the purposed of

studying. This study employed the process to determine the efficacy of the repellence

of the product. There are surveys and three trials that the researcher made.

Respondents of the Study

This study involved a total of 10 respondents. This was categorized into 2 types,

asthmatic and non-asthmatic people. The respondents evaluated the efficiency and the

scent of the Origanum Vulgare candle.

The researcher conducted series of tests and experiments to determine the

specific output of the project. These include the scent test and the repellency test. The

researcher will then utilize the result for exact data comparison.

The researcher personally administered the research instruments to the

respondents. The researcher discussed the significant help the project will offer and

have personal interaction with the asthmatic people as they will be the first-hand target

customers.

After the tests and surveys are done, the results are tallied and tabulated. These

will become the basis of the analysis and interpretation.

Scent test

The scent test will be determined by conducting the experiment. The researcher

tried the feasibility of the candle if the scent of Uraganum Vulgare is present.

Repellence test

The repellency test will be determined by conducting the main experiment.

A. PREPERATION OF MATERIALS

 Wax

 Oregano leaves

 Wick

 Molder

 Coconut oil

B. BOILING PROCESS

After washing and chopping finely the Oregano leaves, put in the pan then add

the coconut oil and boil for 15 minutes.

C. MIXING PROCESS

After the boiling process, filter the boiled product then melt the wax on the pan

to prepare for the mixing process.

D. MOLDING PROCESS

Lastly, put the mixture in the moulding glass and insert the wick. Let cool.

A questionnaire was used for the data gathering procedure. The questionnaire

consists of 2 parts: scaling from strongly agree to strongly disagree and direct question.

The instrument will determine the quality of the candle and its repellency.

Statistical T

Percentage method is used for computing the data. All answer of the

respondents from the survey will tally to compute for the data needed. The researcher

also used Likert Scale to compute for the percentage of difference of the samples.
