Shell Aviation
Tasek Glugor
Penang, Malaysia
Throughout my first year in college, I have focused heavily on the mathematical and physical concepts
taught. I also worked on multiple python and physics projects. Two examples would be a python code I
wrote to calculate the derivative of a function and compare it to an approximation of that derivative on a
graph and an engineering project were I had to use the Universal Accounting system (UAE) to calculate
consumption in multiple scenarios. This combined with the technical use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and
PowerPoint in my physics and chemistry labs makes an excellent combination for the innovative
environment at Shell that tackles all sorts of problems.
Moreover, my skills in collaborating and working with a team have helped massively throughout my
university studies. Being able to manage and organize tasks and schedules while performing top quality
work is an essential part of my skill set that is required to work at Shell aviation. I am also experienced in
presenting confidently and comfortably. I am adept with different forms of communication, from media to
written reports, to scientific posters. Finally, my leadership skills have helped guide various teams I’ve
worked with to be able to perform our work at the highest quality. My Technical and professional writing
course is a great example of me combining all these skills together as team manager. I had to collaborate
with my team while developing my leadership skills and presenting the team’s research in multiple
different formats.
I was drawn towards the innovative and inclusive work environment at Shell aviation in addition to the
rewarding, creative and collaborative work ethic maintained by the company. With my background in the
technical aspects of mechanical engineering and my leadership and communication skills, I believe I
would be a perfect fit at Shell aviation as I am driven and highly motivated.
Sincerely,
Ahmad Salma
