Summer Internship
Doha, Qatar

Dear Human Resources Director,

As a junior petroleum engineering student at Texas A&M University, I am eager to apply for the summer internship
offered at your company’s website. The education I have received thus far and the various projects I have been a part
of throughout my university journey have enhanced my communication, teamwork, and time management skills,
which I'm looking forward to applying in the workplace. As I look to explore potential job areas and career
opportunities, your company’s collaborative and engaging culture that enables new engineers to develop
professionally stands out to me. The emphasis on providing interns with an improved understanding of the oil and gas
industry, highlighted on your website, would be highly beneficial for any aspiring petroleum engineer. I am confident
my enthusiasm, drive, and relevant skills would make me an excellent fit for your summer internship program.

Throughout my university journey, I have participated in undergraduate research projects with faculty members from
the science department at Texas A&M. I am currently working as a research assistant in a Qatar National Research
fund project that focuses on calculating organ dose distribution in thyroid cancer patients. This experience has made
me a big advocate for trying new and unfamiliar things. I gained much knowledge on the methods used to develop
automated calculation techniques to provide organ dose assessment for pediatric and adult patients undergoing CT
Scans.

Before joining Texas A&M university, I worked with several faculty members from the petroleum engineering
department at Texas A&M on a research project focused on optimum oil recovery. I gained a lot of knowledge on the
different aspects of oil recovery and the factors affecting it, like porosity, wettability, and viscosity, thus being able to
conduct detailed research on the optimum solutions for oil recovery. Additionally, I worked on developing models
using 3D printing, which has helped me gain significant experience in adapting to new technologies in the industry,
considering that 3D printing has become one of the most popular methods to solve supply chain problems in the oil
and gas field. During this research program, I worked with students from various backgrounds. I was awarded,
alongside my team members, an award of excellence for the best engineering research project. I learned a great deal
about communicating effectively throughout this project and the ability to be a good team member by listening and
contributing in equal parts.

During my current semester, I have also worked on co-authoring a magazine covering the content of a petroleum
engineering course focused on economic analysis and investment decision methods in petroleum and mineral
extraction industries. This experience has allowed me to evaluate different petroleum industry investment
opportunities, provided me with a greater understanding of the high risk and uncertainty associated with oil
investment, and highly developed my analytical and critical thinking skills. Additionally, the purpose of this magazine
was to give students a quick overview of the topics discussed in the course and acts as complementary material to aid
IN the understanding of petroleum investment analysis.

Varied experiences are essential to my growth, and working with your company will allow me to apply my skills and
grow professionally. I look forward to hearing from you and learning more about the summer internship offered at
North Oil Company.
