What is #GivingTuesday?

Giving Tuesday is a Global Day of Giving. After the sales of Black Friday and Cyber Monday,
Giving Tuesday is a time to celebrate and encourage activities that support charities and
non-profits. Whether it’s donating, volunteering time, helping a neighbour or spreading the
word, Giving Tuesday is a movement for everyone who wants to give something back.

As an official charity of the TCDSB, our mandate is to empower TCDSB students so they can
focus on their education. Through our Four Wings of Support: Student Nutrition Programs;
School Allocations; Guardian Angel Funds; and Bursaries and Awards, we work to give every
student an equal opportunity to succeed. Funds used from Giving Tuesday will be directed
toward our Guardian Angel funds - the social work emergency funds.

SICK KIDS is Canada's most research-intensive hospital and the largest centre dedicated to
improving children's health in the country. With passionate and dedicated staff, SickKids is
much more than a hospital. They provide the best in child and family-centred care and child
well being.

SICK KIDS has been our partner in fighting Covid 19. They continually supply us with saliva
testing kits and information sessions to help us keep everyone safe and protected. As a way
to say thank you, we would like to raise funds for the amazing work they do in enhancing
child health care and purchase gifts for hospitalized children through their gift giving guide.
