RECOUNT TEXT

Definition
Text that retell about past event, usually in a
chronological order
When we talk about a recount text.
There are 3 types of recount text :
1. Personal experience
2. Biographical Recount
3. Historical Recount
 The Function of recount text :
1. To tell experience in which the writer was personally
involved
2. To inform the readers by telling the past events
historically and achievements in personal ‘s life
3. To chronicle past event regarded as historically
significant
 The generic structure
1. Orientation : tells who is
involved in the story. when, where and why the
story happened
2. Series of events : tells what happened in the
story
3. Re -orientation ( optional ) : tells the conclusion
of the story.
Language feature of recount text
Introducing personal participant : I . my group ,
etc
Using chronological connection : then, first, etd
Using Linking verb : was and were
Using action verb : sent , tought , etc
Using simple past tense : forgot , imagined ,
etc.
