Today was my first day at the Local Youth Development Office, and it was quite an adventure. As a
student intern, It was exciting but also scary. Everyone seemed busy and serious while minding their own
business. I met my some new coworkers and my two classmate, who were really nice and helped me settle
in.
I did lots of different things, like organizing papers and helping my coworkers. It's a bit
overwhelming, but I tried my best. By the end of the day, I was tired but happy. Looking forward to what's
ahead!
March 5, 2024
Today was my second day at the Kalinga Provincial Capitol's Local Youth Development Office, I'm still
getting used to the ropes here.
Started off by shadowing our proctor members to learn about their daily tasks. Took notes and
asked lots of questions to understand the projects they're working on.
Got assigned a to task like doing some paper works. It felt good to contribute, even in a small way.
Had lunch with some of the other interns and chatted about our experiences so far.
Wrapped up the day by reviewing what I learned and setting goals for tomorrow. Overall, it was
another enriching day at the office, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to be here.
March 6, 2024
Today was my third day at the Local Youth Development Office. At first, I felt unsure, but as the day
went on, I started to get the hang of things. I began to do tasks and felt more comfortable in the office.
I made friends with one of the other workers, a Junior Officer. They were really helpful and made
me feel welcome. We worked together on some projects General Intake Sheet in particular.
Even though the office seemed overwhelming at first, I tried my best to learn as much as I could. I
asked questions when I needed help, and everyone was really patient with me.
As the day ended, I looked back on how far I've come. I still have a lot to learn, but I'm feeling more
confident every day. I'm excited to keep growing and doing meaningful work here.
March 7, 2024
Today, my fourth day at the Youth Development Office, felt like a breeze. My immersion buddies had
become close friends, and we tackled our tasks together like a well-oiled machine.
We spent the day focusing on General Intake Sheet (GIS) work, sorting through paperwork. It was
tough, but we didn't give up. Instead, we worked as a team, supporting each other every step of the way.
By the end of the day, we finished a three batches of General Intake Sheet (GIS) paperwork. We
celebrated our success with talking about personal things and getting to know each other more. Working
together made everything easier, and I'm grateful for the friendships I've made here
March 8, 2024
Today was my fifth day at the Youth Development Office, and it felt like time flew by. I did my usual
tasks like sorting paperwork and helping out wherever I could.
But the best part was finally finishing up all the GIS work. It took a lot of effort, but with the help of
my buddies, we got it done. It felt really good to see everything come together.
As I packed up for the day, I couldn't help but feel excited for next week. I wonder what tasks and
challenges lie ahead. Whatever it is, I'm ready to dive in and give it my all.
We are given an opportunity to talk to Mrs. Marilou D. Addamag, a dedicated employee at the Local Youth
Development Office in Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga Province, Philippines. Marilou shared her journey from
her upbringing to her fulfilling career in public service.
Mrs. Marilou fondly recalled her upbringing in Kalinga Province, where she learned the values of
hard work and community engagement. These values have been the cornerstone of her career in public
service, where she strives to make a positive impact on the lives of the youth in her province.
Throughout her tenure at the Local Youth Development Office, Mrs. Marilou has faced various
challenges, but her determination and passion for her work have seen her through. She emphasized the
importance of collaboration and innovation in addressing the needs of the youth and empowering them to
reach their full potential.
Outside of her work, Mrs. Marilou finds joy in engaging with her community and participating in
initiatives that promote education and youth development. She believes in the power of grassroots efforts
and community involvement in driving meaningful change.
Setting a work schedule is essential for effective time management and maintaining focus
throughout the day. It provides individuals with a clear road-map of tasks to accomplish, helping them
prioritize their responsibilities and allocate time appropriately. By adhering to a structured plan, individuals
can avoid distractions and procrastination, ensuring that they make the most of their available time.
Moreover, a well-planned schedule instills a sense of discipline and routine, which can enhance
productivity and efficiency in completing tasks.
Through this experience, I realized the importance of continuous learning and adaptability in
today's digital age. It showed me that by embracing new technologies and continuously improving my skills,
I can stay competitive in the job market and contribute effectively to organizational success. This milestone
underscores my commitment to leveraging technology effectively to achieve goals and drive progress in the
workplace.
During my time in the office, I witnessed various initiatives aimed at promoting mental well-being,
such as mindfulness sessions, stress management workshops, and access to counseling services. These
resources were clearly valued by both staff members and the youth community, contributing to a positive
and supportive work environment.
Additionally, I observed a culture of open communication and camaraderie among team members,
where discussions about mental health were encouraged and met with empathy. This inclusive atmosphere
not only fostered strong bonds within the team but also promoted a sense of trust and support among
colleagues.
While my immersion experience was brief, it was evident that the local youth development office
is committed to prioritizing mental health and wellness. By providing comprehensive resources and
fostering a supportive workplace culture, they are not only empowering their staff but also setting a
positive example for the youth they serve.
CONFLICT RESOLUTION
As an immersion student in the Local Youth Development Office, I've managed to maintain a positive
attitude by fostering humility and kindness towards my proctor and fellow immersion students. This
approach has helped cultivate a harmonious environment where conflicts are rare occurrences. While I
haven't directly encountered conflicts during my time here, I've observed and learned from the conflict
resolution processes implemented by the staff. Through this experience, I've come to appreciate the
importance of maintaining positive relationships and open communication channels, which serve as
preventive measures against potential conflicts. My commitment to a positive attitude not only contributes
to a supportive atmosphere but also reinforces the values of empathy and understanding within our team
and the broader youth community we serve.

LAST GOODBYE
MY REFLECTIONS
My work immersion at the local youth development office on the provincial capitol was an
exhilarating journey filled with both enjoyment and challenges. From the outset, I was eager to dive into
the real-world dynamics of youth development initiatives. The environment was vibrant, bustling with
youthful energy and innovative ideas, setting the stage for an enjoyable experience.
Initially, the tasks assigned were straightforward, yet they quickly evolved into complex challenges
that pushed me to think critically and creatively. Whether it was organizing events, conducting research, or
drafting proposals, each task presented its own set of hurdles that required problem-solving skills and
adaptability. Despite the occasional frustrations, overcoming these obstacles was immensely rewarding and
added a sense of fulfillment to my experience.
Interacting with various stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, and fellow
youth, was both enjoyable and enlightening. Engaging in discussions, listening to different perspectives,
and collaborating on projects broadened my understanding of youth development issues and honed my
communication skills. Building relationships with colleagues and mentors fostered a supportive
environment where I felt encouraged to explore new ideas and take on greater responsibilities.
However, midst the enjoyment, there were moments of challenge that tested my perseverance and
resilience. Balancing academic commitments with the demands of the immersion program required careful
time management and prioritization. Additionally, navigating bureaucratic processes and dealing with
setbacks taught me the importance of patience and perseverance in achieving long-term goals.
In retrospect, my work immersion at the local youth development office was a transformative
experience that not only deepened my knowledge of youth issues but also equipped me with invaluable
skills and insights for future endeavors. While the journey was both enjoyable and challenging, it ultimately
shaped me into a more confident and adaptable individual ready to tackle the complexities of the real
world
POST- IMMERSION

and motivated. The atmosphere was bustling with energy as staff members worked tirelessly to support
young people in our community. From organizing educational workshops to providing resources for skill
development, the office was a hub of activity aimed at empowering youth.
During my immersion, I had the opportunity to witness firsthand the positive impact of their
programs. Whether it was mentoring sessions or career guidance, every effort was geared towards helping
young individuals unlock their full potential. It was heartwarming to see the dedication of the staff who
genuinely cared about the well-being and success of the youth they served.
One thing that stood out to me was the sense of exclusivity fostered within the office. Regardless of
background or circumstances, every young person was welcomed with open arms and given equal
opportunities to thrive. It was evident that the office was committed to creating a supportive and nurturing
environment where everyone felt valued and respected.
Overall, my experience at the local youth development office was eye-opening and reaffirmed my
belief in the power of community-driven initiatives. Through their tireless efforts and unwavering
dedication, they are not just shaping the future of individual lives but also making a meaningful impact on
the community as a whole.
