MODULES’ DISTRIBUTION CUM AWARDING OF CERTIFICATES OF RECOGNITION
FOR THE 2ND QUARTER
With the present situation that we, teachers, are experiencing, time and clime can testify that nothing
is tough enough to hinder us to fulfill our oath and purpose. From printing modules, sorting, checking,
recording, computing of grades, and going from one barangay to another every month under the hot weather
and steep roads, one whose heart and spirit is weak can literally faint and fail and give up. But not with the
teachers of PENHS because we reach out to our learners even how far the place or how dangerous it may
seem. As the Department of Education extends the school days of classes for modular learning or blended
learning, previously October to June, now it will be until July, our effort to continue with this modality is
heightened and challenged as well.

Each team went in different barangays to distribute the 3 rd quarter modules of the learners. We never
failed to inform our learners and their parents/guardians with the protocol to be practiced during the
distribution of modules and retrieval of answer sheets. In fact, as we unfold each day in doing this task, we
see improvements. Most of the parents and learners have become more responsible in terms of time-
management. They would come on time to receive the modules and would even prepare checklist as a
monitoring tool in passing answer sheets. This tool has greatly helped us to supervise the answer sheets
received every week.

Further, we also recognized our learners’ effort in burning their midnight oil. What they sow, they
reap. Right after our module distribution, we awarded the certificates of our learners who have garnered an
average of 90 and above. Upon seeing their parents’ wild smile as they receive the said certificate, our hearts
were on cloud nine.

Indeed, when teachers, learners and parents work hand in hand, mediocrity won’t prosper. Anything
is possible. We can do better. We can be more!

ORIENTATION OF GRADE 12 LEARNERS AND THEIR ACTUAL REPORTING

ON THEIR WORK IMMERSION
Mrs. Glendalyn S. Macopia, a Grade 12 HE adviser, spearheaded the orientation of grade 12 learners
on their work immersion last May 18, 2021. Present in the orientation were the grade 12 GAS, TVL-AFA
and TVL-HE. She discussed important matters to be done. Mrs. Macopia also highlighted the things to
follow with regard COVID-19 protocol for the safety of the learners as they undergo work immersion.

Work Immersion is one of the activities of the Grade 12 learners every school year since its part of
their curriculum. They will be graded based on the standards set by the Department of Education. The
learners should finish the intended hours for their work immersion and are expected to accomplish their
portfolio as partial requirement for graduation.

The TVL-AFA students were advised to come up with communal garden in their respective
barangays. They were given varieties of seeds to grow, and they were visited by their adviser once a week to
supervise the progress of their assigned task. Meanwhile, the TVL-HE and GAS were scheduled to come in
school for their work immersion which is baking because the tools to be used are in the SHS TLE
Laboratory. However, to practice precautionary measures, their adviser made a work immersion plan as a
basis of their schedule in reporting to school.

As the learners undergo such activity, we hope for the best that they would come to learn valuable
things. This is but one of the many preparations for them to become globally competitive individuals.

QUICK VISIT OF THE REGIONAL DIRECTOR DR. BENJAMIN PARAGAS AT LAGUM

It was such an honor and pride to have visited by the most esteemed “boss” of the Region 2. The
most exciting part was the fact that he considered traveling from His office going to a place where internet
connection was not even possible. He didn’t mind traversing the lofty road of one of the most blessed towns
in Cagayan in terms of green mountains, tall trees and cold weather- the Penablanca, Cagayan.

Upon his arrival, the PENHS Family headed by Ma’am Marisal M. Quindatan, together with the
teachers at Manga Elementary School headed by Ma’am Daisy Talattad, warmly welcomed him with sweet
smiles and with delectable food. He was overwhelmed to meet teachers whose dedication to teaching and
learning is incomparable. His presence made the whole conversation meaningful. Moreover, Dr. Paragas
was such a good leader based on his words and actuations. The way he talks and communicates speak a lot
of his true personality. We can say that he has the compassion and fervor to his service, and a respected
servant of the Region.

After the short meeting, he and his companions went to also visit some other schools of Lagum.
