Work immersion means to foster the information and abilities
acquired in the four corners of the homeroom and to cause the
understudies to turn out to be more mindful or the genuine
work place climate. The learners are learn very well on the
program particularly on the components relating to character
and appearance, work propensity, work mentality and
competence. Work immersion is a vital part of the K to 12
Basic Education Program to furnish SHS graduates with
qualities, information, and abilities that networks,
organizations, furthermore, ventures need through its four
ways out: advanced education, business, business, or center
level abilities advancement. Through work immersion the
students can apply and enhance the specialization in a real life
work environments Also according to study of The Asia
Foundation 2018 stated that, the Department of Education’s
Senior High School (SHS) program, ushered by the K-12
education reform. One of its components, the work immersion
program, provides students “real workplace” experience,
giving students a set of technical-vocational and livelihood
skills that can help to make more informed career choices and
improve the employment prospects. As part of K-12 program,
I required to go trough Work Immersion based and connected
on our strand and specialization. It enables us to gain and to
enhance our knowledge and skills that will help us in what the
future holds upon us. But, due to covid pandemic, face to face
immersion is impossible. For the sake of us. Our work

parents/guardians and teachers to ensure that home-based
work immersion is effective and efficient during the pandemic.

Subject : GUIDELINES FOR WORK IMMERSION

IMPLEMENTATION DURING CRISIS SITUATION

Date : June 2, 2020

The Office of Curriculum and Instruction (CI), through the Bureau of Curriculum Development
(BCD)
issues these guidelines as basis for the Work Immersion implementation of all senior high schools
during crisis situation.

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has caused massive disruption in the education sector. In the
context of basic education, crisis is condition in which the regular operation of schools including
the relevant offices in the division, region, and central levels is suspended; and its learner’s
physical attendance in school is prohibited or limited.

In the Senior High School, the implementation of Work Immersion, which is a required subject for
the Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) track is assumed to be severely affected in this scenario.
However, learning should not stopeven during crisis situations. While limitations for learners and
schools are recognized, the Department should take a proactive stance in anticipating and
planning for various service deleivery conditions.
In light of the present constraints, schools may choose to do the following:

1. Teachers must plan student tasks in which they may demonstrate their learning abilities.
inside the comforts of their own house.

2. Because the subject's performance criteria requires students to create a creative portfolio
that incorporates their learning. Learners in specialized learning areas within the humanities
or social sciences may be expected to:

a. design a portfolio strategy that includes a timetable, the activities involved,

and essential ideas;

b. create a concept paper that summarizes their humanities or social science

coursework;

c. After each section of the portfolio has been finished, write insights;

d. assemble all of their outputs for inclusion in their portfolio;

e. create an overall reflection and learning based on their professors'

evaluations, which will be provided depending on the state of the

Work Immersion Obstacles and Actions To Be Taken

The student will find it difficult to achieve a balance between conventional school
sessions and work immersion duty hours. Both need time and attention. There are
several exercises to complete for each topic, as well as documentation requirements for
work immersion. It's a challenging exercise, but it will teach a student how to manage
their time while working.
The ratio of Senior High School student trainees to available responsibilities
during work immersion is limited. Furthermore, the work given to immersion students is
so basic that it stops them from progressing in their study.
The number of Senior High School student trainees compared to available jobs is
restricted during work immersion. Furthermore, the work offered to immersion students
is so basic that it hinders them from further developing the talent.

Work Ethics
I can keep track of my attendance by not missing work immersion. On-time
arrival during job immersion is an indicator of good attendance. I need to stick to a
regular sleeping schedule. I have to prioritize my responsibilities. Immersion in the
workplace is a good approach to prepare for the real world.
Your boss may allow you to work from home on occasion. You just took some
office supplies because you have permission to work from home, and you're using it for
that purpose anyhow. Some companies or organizations, such as Job Immersion
students, allow trainees to simply finish the day's job and go home. If you find yourself
in this position, go to your destination as advised. You do observe, though, that other
trainees, including yourself, are still working.
Professionalism, honesty, respect for the job and other coworkers, timeliness,
and discipline are all essential components of a strong work ethic. This ethical virtue
aids in the development of a person's responsibility and determination.
Safety and Workplace

I've done the riskiest thing I've ever done when I'm at home. I was alone at the
time, and some equipment I was using accidentally threw water into the extension. I
immediately resolve the issue by turning off the electricity.

The quote's main argument is that cardboard safety signs are a good approach to
promote safety. However, being a person who persistently finds dangers and warns others
about what might happen if we don't take safety procedures is a more effective means of
decreasing danger. Be someone who is concerned about others' safety. When necessary,
speak up.

Workplace safety refers to the limitation of elements that can cause harm,
accidents, and other negative outcomes in the workplace. It represents a culmination of
policies, behaviors, and precautions that work to limit hazards, accidents, and other
kinds of harm in a work environment.

Rights and Duties of Employees and Employers, Confidentiality in

the Workplace,
and Conflict Resolution

These rights and obligations will considerably assist me in executing my

job/responsibilities responsibly and successfully if I ever become an employee. In terms
of rights, it will help me decide what to do in the case of an accident and how to refuse
dangerous work.
When someone gives you sensitive information that they don't want shared with
others. So you may use what you've learned about the legal definition of confidentiality
there. Confidentiality is essential since it aids in the development of trust.

When conflict is handled incorrectly, it can destroy a relationship; but, when

handled politely and effectively, disagreement can strengthen the tie between two
people. Whether you're dealing with conflict at home, work, or school, learning these
skills may help you settle arguments in a healthy way and build healthier, more
rewarding relationships.
Appreciating the Importance of Credentials

Strength in this situation refers to what your friends think you're good at. It's
worth noting that the inquiry is directed at your 'colleagues' or 'friends,' not you. When
you give pep speeches to your friends, for example, they gain confidence.
Then your courage inspires others. A circumstance in which a person (you) is
having trouble is referred to as "weakness." For example, you are good at cleaning the
house but not so much at cooking. Another example comes from the field of language.
Although both physically indicate the same thing, "He's heavier than I am." is easier to
remember than "He weighs more than I do."
An ideal supervisor would be involved in the supervision of SHS students and
knowledgeable about their experiences. It's your concept that you're deliberating.

Immersion Portfolio
Portfolios are an excellent way to demonstrate, rather than simply tell, the
talents you'd describe on a CV or in an interview. They allow you to demonstrate
rather than simply tell. A portfolio is used to show potential employers your work
throughout the job search. It demonstrates that you possess the requisite skills and
abilities.
It improves cognitive skills: immersion students usually gain higher
cognitive flexibility, displaying improved attention management, memory, and
problem-solving abilities, as well as a better knowledge of their native language.
Work Immersion is a sort of training that involves significant exposure to
native or relevant to the object of study surroundings or situations, as well as
participation in some activity or interest.
