Panama

The Panama Flag is divided into four rectangles, which are all different. The
white color of the flag represents peace. The blue color of the Panama Flag
represents the purity and honesty of the country and the red color of the flag
represents the authority and law of the country.

Panama is located in Central America, bordering both the Caribbean Sea


and the Pacific Ocean, between Colombia and Costa Rica.
The current population of Panama is 4,508,336 as of Monday, March 4,
2024, based on Worldometer elaboration of the latest United Nations data.

Spanish is the official language of Panama. The majority of the population of


Panama speaks Spanish in business, government, and education.
The constitution, laws, and executive decrees provide for freedom of religion and
worship and prohibit discrimination based on religion. The constitution recognizes
Catholicism as the religion of the majority of citizens and requires Roman Catholic
instruction in public schools, with exemptions allowed.

Panama’s culture is a blend of African, American Indian, North American, and


Spanish influences, which are expressed in its traditional arts and crafts, music,
religion, sports, and cuisine.

1. Carnaval
Panama’s Carnaval is celebrated with parades, floats, music, dancing, and serious
partying.

2. Corpus Christi
Is a catholic holiday that commemorates the Eucharist. Its dates vary from year to
year, but generally it’s held between late May and early July.

3. Semana Santa
During this time, towns throughout Panama host religious events, including a
reenactment of the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ.
