Goals
My social media plan is to increase the amount of
followers I have.
Target Audience
My targeted audience is readers, writers, and librarians.
I want to review and advertise books for people who
want to find a good read while trying to encourage more
people to read. Anyone who enjoys literature is my
targeted audience.
SMART Objectives
I want my targeted audience to see me as a reliable reviewer and
suggester of literature.
SMART Objective: Gain over a hundred followers from advertising and/or
reviewing literature online within a month’s time.
This SMART Objective will change as time goes on, the number of wanted
followers will increase as each past objective is met.
Measurement
I will use Hootsuite to keep
track of my followers in order
to determine if my SMART
objectives are being met and if
the content I’m posting is
attracting followers.
Social Media Channels
Instagram

Instagram is a popular site to review and/or advertise


books. I follow a few authors or readers that consistently
post excerpts from books to persuade others to read them.

Tiktok

Tiktok is where BookTok is. This is a part of Tiktok where


readers and authors share quotes from books in order to
persuade others to read them. They also discuss the
quality of books and authors even attempt to persuade
people to read their own books. I could benefit from
making a name for myself on Booktok.
Strategy and Tactics
A strategy I plan to use to achieve my SMART Objective is posting influential,
interesting, or attention grabbing quotes from books to attract readers interested
to read more. Another strategy I could use is posting content from my own works
to advertise my talents.
Three specific ways that I plan to use Tiktok and Instagram to gain followers is:
● Join relevant conversations on Booktok and Instagram to become relevant in
the book community on both networks.
● Comment and like posts from specific people such as authors, readers,
reviewers, librarians, etc.
● Buy ads on Instagram to advertise my original content.
Examples of Valuable Content
Example one: Instagram

“I have been crafting a series of books that showcase the


difficulties children with disadvantages against them face. These
books also highlight the disadvantages children may face for
the average child so they better understand what their
classmates may face in their everyday lives. The book I have
finished is called “Blurred Words” which is about a child with
ADHD struggling in school. #ADHD #Books #Children

Example two: Tiktok (Booktok Community)

“In this video I have a slideshow of pictures from my children’s


book, “Blurred Words” which, if published, can be used in
schools, therapist offices, doctor offices and homes to educate
children about the disadvantages other children may face.
