965 GENERAL INFORMATION

1. Each candidate should have the following for this examination:


(a) Traditional Drawing Method
Two sheetsof drawing paper (both sides may be used)
Drawing instruments
Drawing board and T-square
Metric scale rule
OR

(b) Computer-Aided Drafting Method


A minimum of three sheets of 1|" x 17" paper
Personal computer with monitor, keyboard, mouse and printer
Computer-aided drafting software
NOTE: After completing EACH question, save your work electronically on the available
storage device. At the conclusion of the examination, the invigilator will give
you instructions for submitting the saved files.

2. Alldimensions are given in millimetres unless otherwise stated.
3. When first angle or third angle is not specified, the choice of projection is left to the candidates
discretion, in which case the type of projection used MUST be clearly stated.
4 Where scales to be employed are not stated, the full size should be applied.
5. Each candidate should use his/her own judgement to supply any dimension or detail not directly
shown on the drawings.
6 The number of each question answered MUST be written next to the solution.
7. Each candidate MUST enter his/her school code and registration nunber in the appropriate space

Candidates MAY use EITHER the Traditional Drawing Method OR the
Method.

SECTION I VWORKING DRAWING

Do NOT Spend more than 2 hours on this section.

Specifications for fioor plan


Walls: External concrete blocks (1 50 mm thick)
Internal concrete blocks (|50 mm thick)

Doors: Exterior doors solid panel (2000 mm high x 910 mmwide)


Interior doors solid panel (2000 mm high x 810 mm wide)

Window size: Single hung sash -1780 mm high x 1120 mm wide (single hung sash)
Bathroom window - 900 mm high x 500 mm wide (single hung sash)
Kitchencounter: 610mm wide

Candidates will be awarded marks for
