1. In what ways could the multiliteracies approach help teachers instill communicative
competence to learners in the early grades? Answer in 7-10 sentences only.

Overall, the multi-literacies approach can help teachers instill communicative


competence in early grade learners by providing a comprehensive and inclusive framework
for literacy instruction that values diverse modes of communication, encourages collaboration
and critical thinking, and connects learning to real-world. Multiliteracy has become very
important in primary and elementary education because the increased use of the Internet,
smart phones, and other devices has begun to deliver information to us at incredible speeds.

2. Based on the components of the instructional planning, write a sample plan using the
standards below from the K to 12 Curriculum. Create the same table template in your
paper.
Content Standard: The learners demonstrate understanding of familiar words used to
communicate personal experiences, ideas, thoughts, actions, and feelings.
Performance Standard: The learners share/express personal ideas, thoughts, action, and
feelings using familiar words.

What to teach : (Wants and Needs)

Materials: (Vocabulary audio, picture with sample sentence pattern, Picture puzzle,
word strips)
Activities: A. Motivation - vocabulary puzzle by group.
B. Discussion – introduce the vocabulary words and Introduce the sentence pattern,
group and individual speaking practice using the sentence pattern. Introduce the tense
verb use in the sentence pattern.
C. Application – Each student will recite all the vocabulary words with its correct spelling.
Word relay game: Each member of the group will hold a strip of word to complete the
sentence pattern discussed in the lesson. The group has to form a correct sentence with
the strips of words they are holding. The group who will finish at the shortest time wins.

3. From the plan you created above, write one learning objective for the cognitive domain,
one for the affective domain, and another one for psychomotor. Assure that the three learning
objectives written are still in line with the given K to 12 standards above.
Cognitive Domain: Students should know the vocabulary words with its pronunciation
and spelling. They must also master the sentence pattern used in the topic. They should be
able to comprehend and answer questions using the sentence pattern leaned in the
discussion.
Affective Domain: Students should be motivated in participating in the group activity.
Through the fun activity such as word relay and picture puzzle, students’ interest will be
ignited, and their motivation will soar high.
Psychomotor: Students develop precision and techniques in executing and arranging
word puzzle to form a correct sentence with the sentence pattern learn in the lesson.
