MARK RECEIVED FOR ASSESSMENT 2: …..% 2 ABSTRACT Cyber stalking is the usage of the Internet or any electronic medium to stalk, harass and
pursue victims. Cyber stalking is the bullying or threat to cause pain by threatening using internet. This unwanted behaviour has numerous negative
effects for the victim, as cyber stalking can interrupt several aspects of an individual’s lifestyle. In this study the impact of cyber stalking among the
victims of cyber stalking were explored. Furthermore, remedies available for victims of cyber stalking were examined as a way to support existing
legislation. This was concluded through examining the impact of cyber stalking. Legislation specific to South Africa and its helpfulness of those
legislations were examined. Cyber stalking can be seen as a threat to the right to privacy while infringing freedom of information. To argue the topic
researcher has used empirical study method. The first chapter provides an explanation of cyber stalking in detail while discussing its factors and
effects. In the second part, while discussing the effects of cyber stalking, then the paper proceeds to discuss legislations passed to curb cyber
stalking. In conclusion, the discussion concluded with recommendations intended to provide a way forward for future research. KEYWORDS •
