Select any one of the following questions and prepare your project based on the topic chosen for Julius
Ceasar.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE

Select any one of the questions from each section and prepare your project based on the topic chosen:

Question:1

i. Write a letter to the editor of a newspaper complaining against the frequent breakdown of

electricity in your locality.

ii. You are the President of block Panchayat. Write a letter to the Municipal Commissioner requesting

him to open a dispensary in your village.

iii. Write a letter to a friend inviting her to join you in a picnic.

iv. Write a letter to a friend explaining him/her why you desire to acquire a thorough education.

v. Write a letter to your parents informing him of your success in winning a prize at a debate.

i. You are Secretary of the History Club of your School. Draft a notice in not more than 50 words

informing students of a proposed visit to some important historical sites in your city.
ii. As Sports Secretary of your, Pune, draft notice in not more than 50 words for your school notice

board informing the students about the sale of old sports goods of your school. You are

Rohini/Rohit.

iii. You are Lenina/Lenin. You have found an expensive geometry box in the school playground. Draft

a notice in not more than 50 words for the school notice board.

Question-3:

i. Write an e-mail to a prominent football coach of your city who has agreed to be the referee at the

event, giving all relevant details.

ii. Write an e-mail to inform the parents about the tour. Give necessary details. Your school is

organizing a tour to Nainital and Mussoorie for the students of classes XI and XII.

iii. Write an e-mail in the form of a congratulatory e-mail addressed to the three students individually.
Mentioning the names of ‘First Three Positions’ won by students of your institute at the National Games. You
are the Head of the Sports Department of your institute.

1) WHAT DID IT COST 100 YEARS AGO?

· Compare the prices of goods across the century and research on inflation and consumer price index [CPI].

· Comparison can be based on the following categories,

Food and Beverages, Housing, Apparel, Transportations, Medical care, Recreation, Education and
Communication, other Goods and Services.

2) SURVEY ON VARIOUS TYPES OF BANK ACCOUNTS THAT OFFER DIFFERENT INTEREST RATES.

· Calculate, record and report as if you made deposits in various Bank Accounts.

· Use the same initial amount, to ensure that your comparisons are credible.

3) BUILDING BRIDGES:

· Building Bridges incorporates Geometry, Algebra and Physics in real world application.

· Bring in the techniques of building strong solid bridges-building shapes that is both light weight and sturdy.

· Research about how the geometric shapes work best for trusses and supports.

4) MATH IN ART:

· Explore art using different mathematical shapes.

· Find the usage of Math used in art and explain the importance and significance of Math in art.

· Draw, colour, pencil sketch different art forms using shapes in math [10 Arts].

HISTORY & CIVICS

Students are required to choose any two projects form the following topics.

(One from History and one from Civics)

1. Make a pictorial presentation of inventions and innovations as a result of the industrial revolution.
2. Role of Martin Luther during the period of Reformation.
3. Role of Subash Chandra Bose and his INA
4. Make a project on topic Golden period of Guptas: Literature, Science, Art and Architecture,
Astronomy, Paintings, Music.
5. Discuss the art and architectural features of any one of these monuments: a) Buddist Caves, Ajanta;
Iron Pillar- Mehrauli; Gol Gumbaz – Bijapur; Mattan cherry Synagogue- Cochin; Kamakya
Temple- Guwahati; St’ Thomas Basilica- Chennai: Tower of Silence – Mumbai;
6. Discuss the sources and the architectural features of Cholas:
a) Brihadeshwara temple, b) Copper coins
CIVICS

1. The Indian constitution protects the rights of children, women, minorities and weaker
sections. Elaborate on the basis of a case study.
2. Fundamental duties complement fundamental Rights: Illustrate with the help of pictures and
descriptive contents.
3. Make a presentation on Local Self Government and its branches and functions.
4. Draw (Explain) a comparative study of the functions of the President and the Prime Minister.
5. Describe “Incredible India: Unity in Diversity”

Guide lines for History project

The Projects should contain nearly 40 to 45 pages

1. Write the name of the subject, project title, your name and class in the first page
2. Second page should be Acknowledgement.
3. Index page of your project (History separate index, Civics separate index)
4. Start writing your projects content (which include sub heading, pictures (all pictures must be place on
your left side) (right side for writing ...) (Pictures should be properly with proper cutting. Avoid small
size pictures)
5. Bibliography
6. Segregate the second project using OHP sheet or using any colour sheet.
7. Then continue to write your civics project starting with the title, index and follow up the same
instructions which are mentioned above.

GEOGRAPHY

1. A record file having any three of the following exercises will be maintained. (The file will be evaluated
out of 10 marks).

(a) Uses of important types of maps.

(b) Directions and how to identify them - an illustrative diagram.

(c) Reading and using statement of scale, graphic scale and scale shown by representative fraction
method. (No drawing work, only explaining their meanings).

(d) Reading of one town guide map or an atlas map. (Recognizing the symbols and colours used,
identifying directions and distances).

(e) Drawing and recognizing forms of important contours viz. valleys, ridges, types of slopes, conical hill,
plateau, escarpment and sea cliff.
(f) Drawing at least one sketch map to organize information about visiting an important place, a zoo or a
monument.

2. Candidates will be required to prepare a project report on any one topic. The topics for assignments
may be selected from the list of suggested assignments given below.

Candidates can also take up an assignment of their choice under any of the four broad areas given below.
(The project will be evaluated out of 10 marks). 68 Suggested list of Assignments:

(a) Weather records: Maintaining and interpreting weather records as found in the newspaper for at least
one season.

(b) Collection of data from secondary sources: {Using Modern techniques i.e., Global Positioning System
(GPS), Remote Sensing, Aerial Photography and Satellite imageries}: Preparing a Power Point presentation
on current issues like – use of earth resources/ development activities/dangers of development and
ecological disasters like droughts, earthquakes, volcanoes, floods, landslides cyclones and tornadoes in the
world.

(c) Physical Features: Collection of data from primary and secondary sources or taking photographs and
preparing notional sketches of features found in the vicinity or areas visited during the year as a part of
school activity.

(d) Find out the sources of pollution of water bodies in the locality and determine the quality of water.

(e) Collect information on global environmental issues and problems and communicate your findings
through appropriate modes (posters, charts, collages, cartoons, handouts, essays, street plays and
PowerPoint presentation).

(f) Area Studies: Choosing any aspect from World Studies and preparing a Power Point presentation or a
write up on it.

(g) Meteorological Instruments and their uses: Six’s maximum and minimum thermometer, mercury
barometer, aneroid barometer, wind vane, anemometer, rain gauge and hygrometer
