Research Design:

The research design for this study will be correlational, aiming to explore the

relationship between being a working student and academic performance among

Grade 10-Jaena students of Timoteo Paez Integrated School.

Subject of the Study:

The subjects of the study will be Grade 10-Jaena students of Timoteo Paez

Integrated School for the academic year 2023-2024.

Sampling Technique:

The sampling technique used will be systematic sampling, wherein every nth student

from the population list will be selected to participate in the study. This method

ensures a representative sample while maintaining simplicity and efficiency.

Data Collection Method:

Data will be collected through semi-structured interviews conducted with the selected

Grade 10-Jaena students. The interviews will allow for in-depth exploration of their

experiences, challenges, and perceptions regarding balancing work and study

commitments.

Data Analysis Method:

The data collected from the interviews will be analyzed thematically. Themes will be

identified based on recurring patterns, topics, and issues arising from the

participants' responses. This qualitative analysis approach will provide insights into
the experiences and perspectives of working students and their impact on academic

performance.

Settings of the Study:

The study will be conducted at Timoteo Paez Integrated School, providing a familiar

and accessible environment for the Grade 10-Jaena students participating in the

research.

Research Instrument:

The research instrument used will be semi-structured interview guides developed

specifically for this study. The interview questions will be designed to explore various

aspects of the students' experiences as working students, including their motivations,

challenges faced, strategies employed, and perceived impact on academic

performance.
