 The Red Fox

Ben was in bed. A cry got him up. Ben ran to his
window. A red fox was in his yard. The fox let out a
cry. Ben saw his cat, Ned. Ned let out a hiss. Ben ran
to get Ned. The red fox ran away.

Ben set Ned in the house and got his dad. Ben said,
“A red fox was in the yard. I had to get Ned.”

His dad said,, “I bet the fox has a kit. The fox had to
tell Ned to get away.“

“Well,” Ben said, “I had to get Ned away!”
