Steps taken so far by GoM / MTDC for development of Lonar

➢ Special Committee constituted for the integrated study & planning as per the directives of hon’ble Bombay High Court on dated 9th March
2010 which includes :

A) Official members: 1)THE COLLECTOR, BULDHANA, CHAIRMAN. , 2)DIVISIONAL FOREST OFFICER, BULDHANA.SUPERINTENDENT,
2)ARCHEOLOGICAL SURVEY OF INDIA, AURANGABAD 3)REPRESENTATIVE OF MTDC, 4) SUB DIVISIONAL OFFICER, MEHKAR, 5) TEHSILDAR,
LONAR, 5)CHIEF OFFICER, MUNICIPAL COUNCIL LONAR

B) Non official member: 1)C. S. KAPTAN, SENIOR ADVOCATE, 2)SHREE N B KALWAGHE ADVOCATE, 3)MR. SUDHAKAR TRYMBAK BUGDHANE ,
4)PRESIDENT LONAR SAROVAR MITRA MANDAL.
➢ MTDC decided to undertake a comprehensive study and planning of Lonar Crater and tourism development by seeking international expertise
and cooperation.

➢ MTDC in cooperation with World Centre of Excellence for Destinations (CED) of Montreal (Quebec, Canada) / SAJE Montreal conducted a
Detailed study on Lonar Crater and Tourism Development.

➢ SAJE Montreal submitted a report that analyzed the tourism system of Lonar and proposed the zone plan and development guidelines for
sustainable tourism development as per standard global practices.

➢ MTDC intends to develop various tourism facilities and allied activities in Lonar in a phased wise manner in line with the recommendations
made in the carried out study.

➢ In order to initiate the development process, MTDC has been allotted two land parcels comprising of 20 hectares at Durga Tekadi and 2
Hectares opposite to ITI building beyond no development zone by Collector Buldhana for developing various tourist amenities. Request to
allot 2 ha Land adajcent to 20 Ha land parcel in lieu of the 2 Ha land alloted opposite ITI is made to Collector,Buldhana. MTDC has prepared
detailed project report of Phase wise development on the above mentioned land parcels. DPR amounting Rs 93.46 Cr is submitted to
Government of Maharashtra for approval under Regional Tourism Development Scheme.

➢ Government of Maharashtra has approved on same amounting as per proposal send by MTDC under Regional Tourism Development scheme.

➢ MTDC have received the amount of R 2.50 Cr from Government of Maharashtra under RTDS

➢ MTDC have prepared and published three e-tenders online for development at Durga Tekdi of amounting total of Rs 11.97 cr. on 26th oct,
2017

➢ MTDC have opened the Techical and Financial tender of Priority 1

➢ The Drawings of Development n at Durga Tekdi has been submitted for Municipals council approvals.
Key issues for the work to be taken up by MTDC

Extension in the lease period for the land at Durga Tekadi.

• Land transferred to MTDC on 21/08/2014 with initial 2 years lease which was

ended on 20/08/2016.

• Requested for the extension of lease to Collector, Buldhana vide letter dated

18/07/2016 and dated 30/06/2017
