MEEF 2nd degré, éducation musicale et chant chorale

Logbook

Part 1 :
During this semester we talking about the place of games, quizzes, escape games in
music education classes at the elementary school. The program of music education and choral
singing allows flexibility, pedagogical freedom and incorporates playful elements such as
games can allow students to make them more active, attentive during class. That can help
them to learn and have a different point of view.
The games offer an interactive and creative approach, allowing students to explore
musical concepts for themselves. We were able to see different games, activities that can be
proposed: escape games, quizzes (Kahoot, ...), but also card games, a "who is it? ", ... In
addition, thank to the games we can test the knowledge of the students on many subjects such
as composers, musical genres, historical periods, ... In addition, the games can allow the
students to work individually but also as a team, which help to motivate someone.
I wanted to talk about escape games because they are a new approach. This allows to
challenge students around musical puzzles. In addition to this, they must work collaboratively,
problem solving and critical thinking. And I think because it’s a new approach, it makes the
moment memorable for students, which can help memorize the concept.
In conclusion, I think play games elements into the music education classes at the
elementary school, teachers can stimulate students interest in music, work on their skills and
knowledge. These creative approaches can help to pose a dynamic learning environment
where students are active and engaged.

Part 2 :
For this second part, where you can use the dictionary and translator, I will write the
text in French. This text is the same as the first one, but it is written with different words and
sentence because I didn’t have the vocabulary or conjugations. The text reads as follows:

Part 3 :
You told us that we could also put other activities that we have done that have a connection
with English. And for some time now I’ve been trying to watch more series in English.
During some train ride then I try to watch episodes of Friend,s. This allows me to work on my
oral comprehension. But to work on written comprehension I will read 1 or 2 chapters of
Harry Potter. For the oral expression, I'm talking to a friend who had a TOIEC level C1 and
went to ERASMUS. He helps me for my pronunciation and conjugation.

Friends:

Season 4- Episode 9: “The One Where They're Going to Party!” Phoebe and Monica
just got their valve to work on their restaurant-caterer. They are both very motivated and
happy with the idea of opening their company. But Monica after forgetting her first culinary
review in the newspaper receives a visit from the owner of the restaurant. After showing her
how to make a simple recipe, he offers to employ her as a chef in his restaurant. She agrees
but Phoebe is sad not to work with her friend. After a conversation she lets Monica become a
boss for her happiness and professional development. At the same time Chandler and Ross
wait for the arrival of their friends “Gandalf” to be able to do La Fête with them. However, he
will not be able to come. The two friends are on it, but Joey offers them to party without him
and that squeezes just as well. Now tired friends land at their favorite bar and realize that they
are not so young anymore and staying calmly among friends is not so bad and even quite fine
I had a little less trouble than the first but about the same needs as when I watched the
previous episode.

I wanted to watch another episode of “friends”. It’s episode 12 of season 4, the name
of the episode is: “The One with the Embryos”. Note that the title in French and in English are
not at all the same: in French it’s: “Celui que gagnait les paris”. Indeed, in this episode there
are two different stories. The first is Phoebe’s having the fetuses implanted in her uterus.
Alongside this there is the very famous story of betting between Rachel, Monica against Joy
and Chandler. The episode begins on the field of Joey and Chandler’s rooster, Monica and
Rachel want them to get rid of it. Which will lead to a small bet on what Rachel has in her
shopping bag, Joey and Chandler prove to them that they know them better than they know
them, and then Ross prepares them a big questionnaire to decide between them, and if the
girls win, they must get rid of their rooster, if the boys win, they trade their flat with the one.
girls. The result is the boys who win! This is followed by the arrangement of the boys in the
apartment and at the same time during the final scene Phoebe discovers that she is pregnant
and that’s when Frank Jr. screams with joy: “My sister is going to have my baby!”
(Personally, I find it very strange that it is her brother but it’s the humorous side).
I watched this episode on the train, and I didn’t have any trouble understanding, I forced
myself to read the subtitles less (my eyes are automatically pushed to read the subtitles but to
work on my oral comprehension I force myself to listen to the dialogues). This time I think to
give the score of 3.5 out of 5 because I think to put one can improve and I read less. On top of
that I noticed less vocabulary which makes me think that I had less difficulty, or it was easier
to understand.
Harry Potter:
wanted to read at least one chapter of Harry Potter in its original version of course! I
admit I didn’t read everything on a single trip it cost me 2 or 3 trips to read only one chapter...
I decided to underline the words I didn’t understand and compare it with the book translated
into French as this I could also compare the translation, I can do with that of the book and if
the translator had to change that sentence, if so why to better stick to the text or not pure
personal interpretation. Indeed, I did not understand all the words but with the context in the
story and the sentences I was able to understand the words that might have caused me a
problem. I liked reading quite well even if I admit I had some difficulties and I took more
time than if it were in French (not so much but still). I had a bit of difficulty but since I
already know a little about the text and what it was, it was easier for me to know what could
be said. I bought the first two books, but I don’t know if I looked at them together or I’ll take
a lot of time for it but maybe one day.

In this secund chapter we are told that it is Dudley’s birthday. We start the chapter
with Harry Potter who is under the stairs woken up by Dudley’s mother who is his aunt, and
he has to make breakfast. When her cousin walks into the kitchen and counts the presents. He
is not happy because he is missing 2 compared to last year, his mother reassures him by
telling him that he will have more during the day. Later Harry Potter’s wait receives a call
saying that Harry will not be able to be kept this day. The family then very annoyed decides to
take Harry Potter to the zoo. Harry Potter very happy that it is the first time he can get out of
the house and school. Obviously, he is not welcome and takes a lot of remarks from all of
Dudley’s family and friend. During the trip to the zoo, they will see the reptiles in the
vivarium, during this episode Harry got to talk with the snake and understand it will even go
as far as to release it without understanding how it could have happened. That he would finish
the exit when he returned home wounded and Harry Potter was strongly reprimanded by his
uncle. And we also learn at the end of the chapter that quite “strange” people look at him on
the bus or on the street, hey but he doesn’t know why: maybe magicians?
