Lesson (2-3 minutes) Present a picture to the class then ask:
B. Establishing a
purpose of the lesson What does the picture is all about?

(The teacher will present the topic and the lesson objective)

C. Presenting TASK NO. 2: GET THE HYPE

examples/instance of (The students will be grouped into 5 groups)
the new lesson
(3-5 minutes) Fill in the chart. In the ‘H’ column, get a “HOLD” on all the facts you
know about the four fundamental operations. In the ‘Y’ column, list at
least three questions that are “YOUR” own about the four fundamental
questions. After the discussion and participating in various activities, list
all the “PLACES”, where you can find information about your questions
in the ‘P’ column. Then, “EVALUATE” what you have learned about the
four fundamental operations in the ‘E’ column.
(After 5 minutes, all groups must post their work on the board. One
group will be asked to present their answers to the class.)
D. Discussing new (ACTIVITY)
concepts and TASK NO. 3: IT’S TIME TO PERFORM!
practicing new skills
#1 ( 10 minutes) With the same groupings, each group will be given a manila paper,
marker, fact sheets, and activity sheet. Within 10 minutes the group
will discussed the topic assigned to them and will answer the given
activity.

Each group will post their work after the allotted time.

(The teacher will hop from one group to another group to see to it that
the students are doing the task correctly)
E. Discussing new (ANALYSIS)
concepts and
practicing new skills The teacher will call at least 2 groups to present their answer to the
#2 (5 minutes) class. The teacher will asked the following questions:
1. How did you find the activity?
2. Are all your answers correct?
3. How did your find your answer?
4. What type of number is used in the activity?
5. What is whole number?
6. What are the four fundamentals operations?
7. How will you perform addition? Subtraction? Multiplication?
Division?
F. Developing (ABSTRACTION)
Mastery (Leads to
formative With the same groupings, the students will be asked to complete the
assessment) concept map in 5 minutes. They will present their work after the
allotted time.

The teacher will give a short discussion to clarify misconception.

G. Finding practical (APPLICATION)
applications of Problem Solving
concepts and skills in The students will be asked to perform the four fundamental
daily living operations involving whole numbers.

The teacher will check their answers and then asked the following
questions:
1. Is it important to know the four fundamental operations? Why
do you say so?
2. How important is this in doing shielded metal arc works?
3. What will happen in your work if you commit error in the
calculations?

H. Making The students will be asked to complete the GET THE HYPE activity. This
generalizations and time they will fill up the ‘P’ and ‘E’ column. Each group will post their
abstraction about the work on the board.
lesson The teacher will call at least 2 groups to present their answer.
The teacher will praised the students for their answer and
participations.
I.Evaluating Learning TASK NO. 5: Paper and Pen test

The teacher will present 4 items to be solved by the students using

the four fundamental operations.
