need to define what kinds of family structure it is. Yes ma’am.

for 17 years. Their eldest is ten years old

ELABORATE (15 minutes)

Now that you understand family structures and

their definitions, we'll move on to another activity
called "tableau." I'll divide you into four groups,
and each group will receive a scenario
representing a different family structure (Immigrant
Family, Adoptive Family, Gay & Lesbian Family,
Stepfamily). You'll have 10 minutes to enact the
scenario, and when someone says "freeze," the
leader will explain the situation.

Immigrant Family:
Scenario: The Garcia family, who immigrated from
Philippines to the United States, navigate the
complexities of adapting to a new country. Despite
facing initial language barriers and cultural
differences, they find comfort in their tight-knit (Students participate group activity
community of fellow immigrants. Every weekend, prepared by the teacher)
the Garcia family hosts a potluck dinner, where
neighbors share dishes from their home countries,
creating a vibrant tapestry of flavors and traditions.
Through hard work and perseverance, the Garcia
family embraces their new identity as proud
immigrants while honoring their rich cultural
heritage, showcasing the resilience and diversity of
immigrant families.

Stepfamily:
Scenario: Sarah and Jack, stepsiblings, bond over
a shared love for music. They collaborate on a
family talent show performance, surprising their
parents with their harmonious rendition of a classic
song, showcasing the strength of their blended
family.

Adoptive Family:
Scenario: After years of longing for a child, Emily
and Mark finally bring home their adopted
daughter, Lily. As they settle into their new family
dynamics, Lily discovers a love for painting. Every
Sunday afternoon, the family gathers around the
kitchen table for an art session, where Lily's
vibrant creations adorn the refrigerator,
symbolizing the beauty and joy that comes from
their journey of love and adoption.

Gay Family:
Scenario: Alex and Chris, a married gay couple,
gather with their children for a movie night.
Snuggled on the couch with popcorn, they laugh
and cry together, creating cherished memories as
a loving and supportive family unit.
