Sir, many students are playing with the
medicines you gave us, some have thrown
them in the dustbin too !

We do not have worms

in our stomach so why
should we eat it ?
Yes you are right! we don't have
earthworms but we may have thread
like worms ,ringworms or flatworms
which may be transmitted through
soil into our bodies. These worms are
parasites and most of them live
inside our intestine.

They enter our body

through dirty hands,
contaminated water and
food ,pets, unhygienic
eating habits, raw fish and
meat.

They do not prepare their own

food but absorb our digested
food for their growth and they
live in our body so we call them

I’ve read about
Parasites can be divided Endoparasites in a

ectoparasites.

ENDOPARASITES
Endoparasites are organisms that live
inside a host's body and can cause harm.
They can be found in humans and animals
and can cause a variety of health problems-
chronic illness, malnutrition, and even
death.
ECTOPARASITES
Ectoparasites are organisms that live on the
skin of a host and depend on it for
sustenance, maturation, and multiplication.
They are parasites that live on the external
surface of hosts and are in direct contact
with the external environment.
It is not necessary that all
students show these symptoms. I do not have these
symptoms then why
Effects of worms may not be seen

term harm to children’s health. De
worming allows children to have
better growth.

Now I understand, why my

cousin who is studying in
Ambala was also given these
tablets….They are important
for proper growth of all
children!!
Giving tablets to all children of the age
group 1-19 years is called Mass de
worming .It is done through the platform
of schools and Anganwadisto break the
cycle

De worming tablets like Albendazoleis

given twice a year to kill parasites.
These tablets do not allow worms to
absorb sugar from food. This way the
worms loose energy and then die.
Children expel worms via stool. Once
the child ‘s body is free of worms the
body becomes capable to absorb
vitamin A and other nutrients needed
for growth.
National De worming Day
is celebrated in our
country each year. For
