1. PROJECT OVERVIEW AND WORK SCOPE


For station building at Halim (DAK 10+803.29 – DK 00+750.00), PT WIKA Gedung as the
Contractor of Halim Station will conduct column, beam, slab, and roof work. The purpose
of this work is to provide structure which have high load capacity and with minimum
disturbance to surrounding site condition.
This document describes general part of the method for column pedestal work. This
document includes the scope of work, schedule, temporary facilities, construction
method, resources, quality plan, and safety plan.

The scopes of Beam and Slab (2nd Floor) work are stated as follows;

The construction of the station is along the DAK 10+803.29 – DK 00+750.00.

3. TEMPORARY FACILITIES
To start construction work, supporting facilities need to be prepared first. This supporting
facility will be used to supply construction material needs. The supporting facilities that
we have prepared are temporary facilities, following lay out of Temporary Facilities.

Temporary facilities consist of:

- Rebar Workshop
Rebar workshop is a place to produce reinforcement for column, beam, slab, and
others for station building. This facility is equipped with bar bending and bar cutter.
- Formwork Workshop
Formwork workshop is a place to produce formwork for column, beam, slab, and
others for station building.
- Material Stockyard
Material stockyard is a place to stock the material needed such as rebar, plywood
and PCH for formwork, etc.
- Storehouse
Storehouse is a place to store equipments and logistics.
- Site Office
Site office is a place to carry out supervision, work control, and administration of the
project.

b. Preparation Work
Preparation works consist of:
1. Supervisor & Surveyor must check the shop drawing before checking the
thickness & elevation of the slab
2. Surveyor marking the elevation of slab

c. Formwork Fabrication
1. Panel Cutting
• Cutting the panel as per dimension based on drawing
2. Steel Cutting
• Cutting the steel using circular saw, ensure the length of frame is as per
drawing.
• Ensure the worker is wearing the gloves, safety goggles, safety helmet
and safety shoes.
3. Steel Assembling
• Assembling the steel using welding joint.

• Install the panel to the steel formwork by screw it into the beam.
• Check the squareness of formwork.
• Ensure the inside of formwork is flat.
d. Formwork Installation
Scaffolding is placed below the slab and beam area (placed in 1st floor).
Scaffolding is placed every 1.2 m. The height of scaffolding is adjusted to suit
the beam and slab height. The base of scaffolding used are the jack base type
(U head type can be used if needed). After that, the bottom and side form of
beam and the bottom form of slab can be installed. The support can be placed
to support the beam formwork and slab formwork.

e. Rebar Lifting
Beam and slab rebar will be lifted to the area by using tower crane. The
pictures below are the lifting plan for beam and slab rebar.

f. Rebar Fabrication and Assembling


Rebar assembling consists of fabrication, such as cutting, joining and
installation work. These works shall be conducted in accordance with related
drawing, standard and specifications. Rebar material will be delivered to
fabrication yard to carry out the fabrication work. Stocked and fabricated
material shall be protected by plastic sheet and wooden timber to avoid rusting
and support with cushion in lay down area.
After fabrication, fabricated rebar will be assembled in accordance with
construction drawing. The rebar that must be assembled are the slab and
beam rebar. The concrete decking must be placed below the slab rebar, below
the beam rebar, and in both sides of the beam rebar to keep the concrete cover
of beam and slab. All of the installed rebar must be fixed by proper rebar wire.
After that the work should be checked by QC and CM. After the work accepted,
casting concrete can be started.
g. Casting Area with Concrete Strength Difference (Beam – Column
Connection)
Casting area with concrete strength difference is done in column head, where
column has 50 MPa of fc’ while beam and slab has 45 MPa of fc’. Column
head casting is done after the bottom form of beam and the beam rebar are
installed. Wire net is installed on the perimeter of column rebar, then the
column head formwork is installed. The side form is installed and supported.
The casting of column head can be done until reaching SFL using concrete
with fc’ 50 MPa. After all of the column head in one section already casted, the
casting of beam and slab can be done. Before the concrete pouring of the

beam can be done, the mixture of bonding agent and cement must be poured
on the area of column that will contact to the beam.

h. Casting Concrete
Casting concrete work will be conducted using concrete pump. Before placing
the equipment, the concreting area must be cleaned by the laborer using air
compressor. Then the concreting area should be checked by supervisor and
concrete pump team for preparing the location of concrete pump and the
quantity of the pipe used. The casting can be started after all of the requirement
of the slab and beam has checked by supervisor, QC, and CM.
Before the concrete poured to the concreting area, the concrete must be
checked by conducting slump test and making sample tests. This checking is
done by technician, together with QC and CM. Before pouring the concrete,
the mixture of bonding agent and cement must be poured on the contact
surface of the 1st floor column to the beam and slab, and on the surface of slab
and beam connection. The wire net must be installed in the perimeter of the
concreting area to avoid the concrete flows out from the concreting area. The
wire net must be fixed to the rebar by using hollow steel bar. After the work
checked and permitted by QC and CM, the casting can be started. The casting
is started from the beam until reaching the bottom side of slab. After all of the
beam already casted, the rest can be casted until reaching SFL. This is done
to check the beam formwork.

During the process of concreting, the vibrator will be used to prevent the
segregation and to ensure the concrete quality. During casting, the formworks
supports and scaffoldings must be checked by the laborer. For checking the
flatness of the slab, surveyor must check the flatness during concreting. The
wire net and hollow steel bar must be removed 24 hours after concreting.

During the hardening process, the concrete must be cured for 7 days by
watering it to ensure the good concrete quality. The formworks can be removed
7 days after the casting has completed, but the beam and slab still need to be
supported using pipe support every 2 m until 14 days or until the compressive
test of concrete reached 0,85 fcr (force of concrete plan).

i. Formwork Removal
The side form of beam and tie rod can be removed 1 day after casting. The
bottom form together with the scaffolding can be removed 7 days after casting.
The supports can be removed 14 days after casting or until the compressive
test of concrete reached 0,85 fcr (force of concrete plan).

j. Next Section Method of Work


Generally, the method for the next sections is same with the method of the first
section. But there are some methods that differ the method of the next sections
to the method of the first section, mainly in method before concrete casting
(preparation of concrete casting).
While casting the next section, make sure to clean the surface of the joint
between two sections and to roughen the surface until the aggregate is visible.
After that the mixture of bonding agent and cement needs to be poured on the
surface of the joint between two sections. Generally, the joint of the two
sections is located on the beam and slab. After the surface of the beam and
slab that will contacted with the next section already poured with the bonding
agent mixture, the concrete casting of beam and slab for next section can be
done.

6. MANAGEMENT MEASURES

7. SAFETY PLAN
In case that construction work is conducted at existing road, safety for existing traffic and
labor shall be considered in priority to other matter.

7.1. Safety Rules and Regulations for All Workers

The following is several rules of the 'Safety Rules and Regulations for All Workers' that
will be implemented and posted to all Site Safety Notice Boards within the worksite.
a. Safety Rules and Regulations for All Workers
• All workers on site must follow instructions by foremen/ supervisors.
• All workers must use safety helmets with chin straps, vest, and standard safety
shoes/boots at all times. All workers must wear and anchor their safety
belts/harnesses when working at height. Other protective equipment must be worn
and used correctly as and when necessary.
• All workers must refrain from smoking whilst working. Smoking is allowed at
designated areas only.
• All workers must participate in the daily/weekly housekeeping so as to maintain
site cleanliness at all times.
• All workers must strictly abide and comply with all existing safety rules and
requirements.
• All workers must maintain tools and equipment issued in a safe working condition
and report defects to the supervisor immediately for corrective actions.
• All workers will report any hazardous conditions or unsafe acts to the supervisor.
• All workers must report any accident or dangerous occurrence without delay to
his supervisor for necessary action.
• AII workers must be responsible for taking reasonable care for the health of
oneself and of others who may be affected by what he does or fails to do at work.
• All workers must understand that failure to work safely or follow safe work
practices will result in disciplinary actions including removal from site.
b. Control of Employees and Visitors
All employees of the contractor and all subcontractor at all level, including labor and
all employees of other contractors who are working within the Site shall at all times
wear suitable identification when on the Site and display a permit. The permit shall
be in English and the Indonesian language, dated and clearly show the person's and
his employer's names.

All visitors shall report to security guard and follow instructions prior entering the sites.
At the location of the toll area where the work is ongoing, the job site is closed using
the MCB and fence. If there are location adjacent to resident, the project site remains
closed from public road users using fences, so that residents do not have access to
the project area.
c. Security and Social Responsibility
• To reduce potential loss or theft or other criminal acts during construction works
• To ensure effectiveness of managing security.
• All personnel at construction site shall adhere all security policy that have been
stated by Contractor
• Detail of Security management will be explained on Security Management Plan
documents which will be submitted separately.

7.2. Prevention for Accident

During all construction work, WIKA Gedung will provide relevant traffic signs throughout
construction, signaling, banners and flags in every access to the area. This is done to
prevent vehicle accidents leading to the site due to extreme access conditions.
Continuous maintenance is also carried out so that the road can be passed by the vehicle
safely.
a. Prevention for Falling Down of Crane
Lifting work by crane is always required to carry out the work including rebar
installation, unloading of rebar, concreting etc. Once accident of crane falling down is
occurred, terrible impact for public cannot be avoid. In the worst case, dead and
injured will be happened. So, to avoid the above situation followings counter
measures are required;
• Confirmation of maximum lifting weight & working radius of crane
• Confirmation for ground condition of working area
• Prohibition of quick turning during lifting of heavy weight
• Installation of steel plate (if ground condition is not suitable)
b. Prevention for Contact with Heavy Equipment and Worker
In case that operator of equipment does not aware surrounding situation during
operation of the equipment, this accident will be occurred. Countermeasures for this
accident are;
• Keeping out for turning radius of heavy equipment

c. Prevention for Hitting with Lifting Material and Traffic
During turning of crane, lifting material such as rebar cage sometimes will be over the
temporary fence. Although occurrence of this situation has to be minimized, it is
impossible to eliminate the occurrence of above situation. Therefore, the following
countermeasures shall be conducted to prevent this accident from happening;
• Arrangement of flagman to control traffic during lifting work in case lifting material
over the fence (ex. rebar casing)
• Temporary installation of plastic barrier on the road for control of traffic flow (if
necessary)
d. Prevention for Accident When Material Storing
Safe location will be provided for the stock area of the material before used. During
unloading the material, a safety officer will make sterilization to the area from
unimportant persons and others. Unloading of material will be guided by special
personnel and supported by workers. During loading and unloading, it shall be made
sure that no one stands on the bottom of the material when lifted up. It will prevent
accident during this activity.

7.3. Lighting for Work at Night Time

Temporary lighting will be prepared, if there is a work that will be doing at night time.
Lighting work is using spotlight lamp, neon lamp, etc. The lighting system shall be at
the right position, efficient and safe. For night work, every access to the location must
have a sufficient lighting. Lighting will be located at safe place. Electrical supply for
lighting is taken from electrical source of PLN or generator.

8. ENVIRONMENTAL PLAN
WIKA Gedung will consider environmental impact during column work. The consents of
the environmental plan for this activity are as follows:

8.1. Cleaning Area

WIKA Gedung will keep and protect cleanliness in the working area and around the area.
During the process of work and transportation activity, WIKA Gedung will provide Water
Jet Washer on exit access from the working area. This method could keep the cleanliness
of the road from mud soil on tire from Truck and another vehicle. The water will be
provided on access to the working area for cleaning it. WIKA Gedung will always control
the cleanness inside the working area and around, especially on the existing road.

8.2. Dust Control

The possible treatment on dust control is to use the Personal Protective Equipment
(PPE) for the worker.

9. TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT PLAN

Material transportation such as material truck, truck mixer, etc. will come to the work site
through the violet path showed in figure above. In the work site, grid 11 – 12 and grid 16
– 17 is used as access during the construction time. Figure below is the concrete casting
plan using concrete pump for beam and slab 2nd floor casting.

grid 16 – 17. For casting area 2, the truck mixer and concrete pump will be located on

be located on the access near stockyard area. For casting area 4, the truck mixer and
concrete pump will be located on the access near grid 1A – 5A. For casting area above
the access area (grid 11 – 12 and grid 16 – 17), the truck mixer and concrete pump will
be located on the access near those location.
