JUDO

ORIGIN:

The origins of Judo date back to the beginning of
the 17th century when the military class ruled in
Japan. Around the 1882 Jirogo Kano developed this
sport based on Ju-Jitsu, and called it JUDO “lathe
gentle or delicate way”

CLOTHES:
They use judogi and they have differents belts
or “obi”: Withe, yellow, orange, green, blue,
brown and black. Each one represents a level
or “dan degrees”.

PLACE AND TIME:
The competition area has two parts, the
combat zone and the security zone which is
around it, they are normally yellow and red.

Men: 5minutes.
Women: 4minutes.
Young: 4minutes.

SCORING:
1. Ippon: It gives you 100 points and it’s a full throw in
which the opponent lands largely on his back.
2. Waza-ari: It gives you 10 points and it’s a throw which
isn’t clear enough to be an “Ippon”.
3. Yuko: It gives you 1 point and it’s a throw that is
parcially lacking.
