INSTALLATION GUIDE
The installation of the CTQIUV05 is easy, straightforward, and versatile for any consumers needs, however,
placement of the unit is key. Below is a diagram of how the CTQIUV05 pieces together.
Please note: if installing under a vehicle’s surface, the maximum distance between the ‘charging subsystem’ and the
‘anti-skid mat’ is 5mm. There must be no metal placed between the charging coil and the smartphone.

INSTALLATION GUIDE

1
Begin by placing the charging subsystem
into the mounting frame. Make sure that
orientation is correct so that the power
supply connection is easily accessible
within the cut-out of the mounting frame
(circled).

2 Utilising the double-sided tape, attach to

both sides of the mounting frame.
Once the placement has been decided,
proceed to stick the frame combination
up against the vehicle dash/area utilising
the double-sided tape again. On the
external surface, you will then need to
place the anti-skid mat.

Please note: max distance between ‘charging

subsystem’ and the ‘anti-skid mat’ is 5mm.
There must be no metal placed between the
charging coil and the smartphone.

Now take the power connection cable

from within the kit and attach the 2-pin
connector to the subsystem as shown.
Note that this step can be taken either
before or after mounting the frame to the
vehicles surface.

INSTALLATION GUIDE

Locate both a source of +12V switched
as well as a source of Ground near to the
charging unit. Take a set of ‘tap splices’
and simply snap them over the wiring.

Please note: dependent on the sizing of the

vehicles wiring, there are two different sizes
of tap splices provided. Simply utilise the
needed blade depth and disregard the others.

Ø 1.5mm² <|> Ø 2.5mm²

+12V switched
With both tap splices attached securely,
grab the power connection cable and
push both the spade connections here
onto the relevant tap splice spines.
Ensure that the 12V wire goes onto the
12V tap splice and the Ground wire to the
Ground tap splice.

INSTALLATION GUIDE
The following steps surrounding the fitment of a fibre optic dashboard LED are optional and aren’t fully required
for the correct functionality of the CTQIUV05. Feel free to place any of the fibre optic components in storage.
Note: fitment of the LED does require modification/cutting of the dashboard.

Take the fibre optic mounting plate and

attach it to the 2x prongs on the side of
the mounting frame. With the mounting
plate attached, simply line up the 300mm
length of fibre optic filament to the
circular aperture on the mount and bond
it via means of a transparent adhesive
(not provided).

7
Surface of vehicle Guide the fibre optic filament toward the
surface of the vehicle. Attach the black
coupling grommet to the end of the
300mm length of fibre optic filament and
on the other end, you will need to place
the smaller length of filament (19.1mm).
From here, you will need to drill a 2.9mm
hole in the dashboard, this will allow the
smaller length of fibre optic filament to
protrude out through the dashboard.

With the fibre optic LED installed correctly, you will be able to visually tell the status of the CTQIUV05.
Dependent on it’s condition, the unit will display one of the following:
START
- Standby / ACC STOP

- Wireless Charging in Progress

- Phone fully charged (dependent on phone) 100%

- Detection of foreign object(s) (FOD - see
page 2.) on charging pad. Charging process
stopped for safety reasons.

Please ensure all due care is taken when modifying the vehicle. Connects2 promotes the aid of professional
installers and will not be held liable for damage due to improper installation.
