Another use of AI in the travel sector is having smart hotels/rooms.

They utilize AI
such as Alexa (Amazon) and Siri (Apple), where hotel rooms and room appliances can
be activated via voice commands, and they also serve as virtual assistants that can
answer basic questions. A foreign hotel that utilizes this is the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas
(Lasse Rouhiainen, 2023). A local hotel that utilizes a similar system is the Yello Hotel in
Cebu. A robot named Yello Bell roams around the lobby to assist their guest with basic
questions and quarries. The Hotel also has a mobile app that allows the guests to view
their bill, look for nearby points of interest, contact hotel staff, arrange room makeup,
serve as a room key during the guest stay, and serve as a pre-arrival check-in for the
guest (Yambao, 2019).

For the travel sector, AI mainly assists people with their travel planning and
customer service. The travel sector is modernized by using AI to interact with guests
and lessen the need for human assistance. It increases efficiency, and with the
concerns brought by COVID-19, AI is used to lessen human interaction by using robot
assistants and apps to access hotel amenities.

Next, let us discuss how AI improves the transportation sector of the Philippines.
The most recent innovation is an AI-powered system designed to improve the traffic in
the country. The system is discussed in the Contactless Apprehension of Traffic
Violators (CATCH-ALL, n.d.). The system's primary purpose is to catch traffic violators,
take note of plate numbers, profile vehicles, and gather traffic data in the monitored
area. Other uses of the system include better decision-making by traffic enforcement
agencies since they will have data readily available for them to analyze and improve the
country's traffic conditions (Umali, 2019). The system utilizes high-image CCTV
cameras with fiber optic technology and the CATH-ALL system to monitor traffic and
gather all the data needed to catch traffic violators and improve the traffic flow of the
monitored area CATCH-ALL. The current CATCH-ALL system is known as the NCAP
(No Contact Apprehension), and it is used in Manila, Paranaque, Quezon City,
Valenzuela, Bataan, Cauayan City, and Mandaue City (Mangubat, 2022).
