A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE FLAG LAW BY LENDING THE
STUDENT SENATE PHILIPPINE FLAG TO THE UNION OF SOCIAL
SCIENCE REFORMISTS

WHEREAS, USLS SO Constitution oI 2003 Article II Section 9 states that the USLS SG
upholds the Filipino identity and shall promote national ideas and aspirations;

WHEREAS, USLS SO Constitution oI 2003 Article IV Section 1.I states that every student shall
have the responsibility to maintain Christian and Filipino values;

WHEREAS, MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 71 - PRESCRIBING GUIDELINES FOR
CONDUCTING THE FLAG CEREMONY states that the Ilag is a symbol oI the Republic oI the
Philippines, an emblem oI national sovereignty, oI national unity and cohesion;

WHEREAS, the Flag Act oI 2010 upholds the practice oI singing the Philippine National
Anthem every Iirst Monday oI the month;

WHEREAS, the Union oI Social Science ReIormists holds a Ilag ceremony program every Iirst
Monday oI the month;

WHEREAS, the Union oI Social Science ReIormists is short in membership and Iunds to
purchase such material in execution oI the said law;

NOW, IN VIEW OF THE FOREGOING;


BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HERBY RESOLVED, that the Student Senate will lend its Philippine
Flag with pole and stand to the Union oI Social Science ReIormists in support oI the Flag Law;

RESOLVED FURTHER, that the Union oI Social Science ReIormists will be held responsible
Ior any improper handling oI the borrowed materials which may cause its destruction or loss;

RESOLVED FURTHER, that Senator Velasco and Senator Geva will be direct contact oI the said
organization to arrange their agreement;

RESOLVED FURTHER, that the Committee on Issues and Advocacy shall be tasked to post a
copy oI this resolution on the oIIicial bulletin board oI the Legislative Department Ior the
students to be inIormed;

RESOLVED FINALLY, that the Senate Secretary will be responsible to distribute copies oI
this resolution to the Iollowing oIIices: OIIice oI the Brother President, Vice-President Ior
Academic AIIairs, Vice-President Ior Administration, Dean oI Student AIIairs, College Deans,
Student Activities Coordinator, Executive Department, Judiciary Department, University Student
Government Constitutional Commissions, The Spectrum, and College Councils.



This Resolution shall take eIIect immediately aIter its approval.
