BE312 – BIOMEDICAL INSTRUMENTATION I

Spring 2024 HOMEWORK I 25.04.2024

AUTOCAD DESIGN
ORTHODONTIC IMPLANT

Description

Orthodontic implants have been a cornerstone of therapy for over a century, aiding in the recovery process after
tooth loss. Dental screws, a common type of implant, consist of two main parts: an abutment and a screw. These
are inserted into the jawbone, allowing artificial teeth to be attached securely without causing damage to existing
natural teeth. Figure 1 illustrates the implant.

In this assignment, you are tasked with creating a 3D model of the screw implant according to the dimensions
provided in Table 1. Additionally, you need to generate 2D projections of the model from three planes, annotating
all dimensions on these projections. You need to turn in an AutoCAD file (preferably a .dwg file) of your model.

HOMEWORK POLICY

Please read below thoroughly.

1) Group work is not allowed.

2) You can use books, internet source and recitation notes while preparing the homework.
3) Set the AutoCAD filename as “BE312_dentalimplant_yourstudentnumber_yourname”.
4) Upload your homework to the assignment on Microsoft Teams until 23.59 on 09/05/2024.
