SUSTAINABILITY 1

What does it mean to me?

The technical definition of sustainability is meeting

our own needs without compromising the ability of
future generations to meet their own needs.
But, in daily life, according to me sustainability is
getting as much use possible out of something.
For eg., using an already used empty plastic water
bottle as a pen stand or toothbrush holder not only
helps get maximum use out of the bottle but, also
inspires creativity as we come up with innovative
ideas with already existing material.

After celebrating Diwali, attaching &
packing up the decorations is very
tedious. Lighting wires come under this
Lighting Wires category as they are hard to attach
someplace and also hard to store

Holder/ without causing damage to the wires,

but at the same time not entangling
them. As a solution to this, inserting
Organizer straws or newspaper pipes on parts of
the wires without the bulbs is what is
depicted in the sketch. Not only does it
make it easier to attach & store, but it
makes it look more neat. Adding tissue
paper flowers around the light bulbs
also makes it look better.

MATERIALS USED:
Newspapers Attaching the straws or pipes makes it
Straws easier to attach around rectangular
objects in a straight line, as seen in this

sketch.

As for the storage, the sketch below

shows how it can be laid flat side by
side or stacked on top of each other to
be stored in somewhere.
