5R`s has a huge effect in the environment, to living and non- living things.
Here are some beneficial effects of using 5R`s:
1. It will lessen the waste that causes land, air and water pollution which is harmful to
living organisms.
2. By practicing 5R`s, you can help make our surroundings clean and beautiful.

4. People and other living things will be free from diseases caused by waste materials.
5. It also preserves and conserve energy and natural resources.
Snack packages are also one of the causes of pollution in the environment. To lessen this
kind of waste, these snack packages must be recycled and made into useful materials
such as: placemats, bags, basket, pencil cases and others.

Public awareness on waste management is crucial. Participation and involvement of people

on proper waste management must be addressed. In school proper waste management is being
taught to all learners and there is an advocacy campaign that is being conducted to improve
awareness. One of which is the national greening program of the government which aims to
promote the use of 5R`s.
