Under 8s Newsletter Kingston Colts FC 12th December 2011

Dear Player / Parent, We had to wait until the last minute to decide whether to play this fixture due to the frozen pitch (I heard it was -4 the night before). In the end I think we made the right decision as once we got going the combination of the player and the sun soon made the pitch playable. In the game we dominated play but struggled to get our shots in, I think we only managed one shot on goal in the first half although we did manage some really good interplay. The second half started much the same as the first with lots of possession but no goals until a fine solo effort by Ronan who finished off a fine run by slotting the ball past their goalkeeper. The second game was a much scrappier affair and we did ride our luck at time and some fine goalkeeping, first by Harry and then William, kept the score at 0-0 until a through ball had Alfie P bearing down on their goal. A fine shot across goal beat their goalkeeper to make the score 1-0. We then hung on in the final minutes to take the second game.

Our next game is on Saturday 17th December, we are playing at away against at Carterton FC, kick off will be at 10.30am. We will meet at 10.00am at the ground or 9.30am at the Wagon and Horses.

Training
Training is at normal time, Monday 5pm 6pm at the ground, this will be under the floodlights now that the clocks have gone back.
