Life Education Programme

Next week the Life Education Bus will be arriving at Appleton School. This is always an exciting event for the children and parents too. The charity provides a unique health awareness programme for schools and is supported by the Abingdon Rotary Club, The Friends and contributions from parents. The programme will be as follows: Foundation Stage: All about me; Year 1: My wonderful Body; Year 2: Feelings; Year 3: Meet the Brain; Year 4: Great to be me; Year 5: Friends; Year 6: Decisions. An information session for parents is on Monday, February 6th from 2.40 3.10pm. If you would like to attend please let Mrs Schwab know.

Childrens school disco on Friday, February 3rd. from 6.30 8.00pm. Due to Fire Regulations this is for current Appleton School pupils only.

Disco
The childrens disco is this Friday from 6.30 8.00p.m. Only children who currently attend Appleton School can attend due to fire regulations. The parents of children in Foundation Stage, Year 1 and Year 2 must remain with the children during this event.

Information about school closures

The weather forecast in the next few days is for cold temperatures and possibly snow. If conditions are too risky we may need to close the school. The decision to close the school is taken by the head teacher and the chair of governors. Please listen to the following radio stations if you are concerned about PLEASE NOTE THAT school closures: BBC Radio Oxford VHF/FM 95.2 ; oxford@bbc.co.uk; Heart (Thames Valley) VHF/FM 102.6; or Jack FM VHF/FM 106.8. Please check that your work and home contact details are up to date. We will also ask Carl to e mail parents on his list if we decide to close the school.

FOUNDATION STAGE AND KS1 PARENTS MUST STAY WITH THEIR CHILDREN. SCHOOL CLOSES AT THE USUAL TIME NEXT FRIDAY FOR HALF TERM HOLIDAY WEEK.

Please note:
There are no County Music lessons next week because the teachers are involved with music exams. Ms. Sodens music lessons/ club will not be affected. The children who attend Drama Club will have an extra long session next Wednesday.
