Dear Parents,
MESSAGE OF THE WEEK
Fathers Day Craft will be taking place in Year 4 classrooms this evening after school. Please collect your
children from the Year 4 entrance at the rear of the school.
We are having many items of clothing mislaid by children presently (probably as a result of the warmer weather).
We always endeavour to return items as soon as they are found. Please make every effort to name all items
brought into school as we are aware that childrens clothing is expensive to replace.

We are hoping that we can again accommodate 15 Chinese pupils with our families Years 4, 5 and 6. Our guests will
be upper junior children and they will have varying levels of English language. Many parents who looked after our
Chinese guests last year loved the experience and expressed how much fun their families got from it. There is a slip
attached to this newsletter to let you show an interest in offering a place to stay for a week for our guests. Once you
have made us aware of your interest, further information will follow. Many thanks to those parents who have already
replied to us offering a place for them to stay. Funds will be made available to families who offer a place to cover
expenses/costs during the week. Please complete the form below if you are able to help and return it to the school
office by Friday.
PTFA QUEENS 90
TH
Thanks to all out parents and grandparents and carers who offered cakes and biscuits for our event on Friday
afternoon. The weather did not put us off, and as a result, you all helped us to raise 595.96 for your children in
school. The school is about to enjoy outdoor games and thermoplastic markings to encourage activity in the
playgrounds around school through the hard efforts of the PTFA. The contribution of the parents and grandparents
who help and support these events alongside our teaching staff is tremendous and is a real strength of the school.
You all make a difference to school life and for our children. Thank you for your ongoing support!
UNDERSTANDING YOUR CHILDS PROGRESS
On our website you can watch two videos that help you use our assessment system. By doing this, you can keep in
touch with the progress your child is making and look at their attainment. Hopefully this will be an easy process to
keep you aware. Visit our website at www.wldps.com and find the tab for Learning where you will see Online
Assessments Explained. Here you will find two videos. The first is very short and the second is about 10 minutes to
enable you to get the most of this information which is now available. A parent session can be made available if you
contact the school to let us know.
PROPOSED SCHOOL MARKINGS TO THE FRONT AND REAR OF THE SCHOOL.
Following many concerns over the last three years since I have arrived, the school has at last new road markings to the
front of school on Severn Drive and at the rear on Danesway. Please can parents all showing the highest level of
consideration through parking responsibly when dropping off and collecting their children. This protects the safety of
our children and helps our local residents.
