INTRODUCTION
Background of the Study
In this the part the research group will be discussing the background of the
study. The student must comprehensively and extensively discus the situationer
surrounding the research, the reasons for conducting the study, the research
gaps and which of these research gaps your research is trying to answer. This
part also provides a discussion on the significance of the study and the scope
and limitations.
N.B Situationer should include international, national, and local contexts. Must
Not be more than 6 paragraphs long.
Statement of the Problem
This research specifically aims to answer the following research questions
or objectives:
1.2.1 Research Problem 1
1.2.2 Research Problem 2
1.2.3 Research Problem 3
*Note that in the formulation of the research problem you must use question form
or declarative form. Note that the introductory part for the statement of the
problem can be expounded by including the general research question being
answered by the paper.
Research Hypothesis
The following hypotheses were formulated to guide this study:
Ho= (State your Null Hypothesis)
Ha= (State your Alternative Hypothesis)
Note if you have more than 2 hypothesis… please use H1,H2, H3, H4
Significance of the Study
This study is about….. (state your general research problem). It is the aim
of this study to (state your purpose and goal for conducting the study). This
regard, the results that will be drawn from this study will be beneficial, specifically
to the following:
The School.
The Department/Unit.
The School Authorities.
The Teachers/Student.
The School Community.
The Researchers
(Outline specific benefits of the research to the school community, if possible,
formulate it 1 to 2 paragraph per benefit)
REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE AND STUDIES
Introduction for Literature Review
(In this part the researcher will discuss the purpose of writing the literature
review. This part will also indicate scope or coverage of the review as well as the
organization of the review)
Concept/Variable 1
(In this part the research will discuss the variable involve in the study. The
discussion will begin with a definition/description of the variable/concept. Then
the researcher will discuss the type, the function, features of the variable as well
as effects, cause, advantage, and/or disadvantage, if applicable)
Concept/Variable 2
(In this part the research will discuss the variable involve in the study. The
discussion will begin with a definition/description of the variable/concept. Then
the researcher will discuss the type, the function, features of the variable as well
as effects, cause, advantage, and/or disadvantage, if applicable)
Concept/Variable 3
(In this part the research will discuss the variable involve in the study. The
discussion will begin with a definition/description of the variable/concept. Then
the researcher will discuss the type, the function, features of the variable as well
as effects, cause, advantage, and/or disadvantage, if applicable)
Related Studies (if applicable)
(In this part the researcher will present some related studies pertaining to the
study. In the discussion of the related study, researcher will indicate the general
and specific objective of the research identified, the methods used, as well as
participants for the study. Then the researcher will discuss the findings and
conclusion of the studies identified and relate the findings and conclusions to the
current study.)
Synthesis
(In this part the researchers will synthesize the major points of discussion being
presented in the literature review. In this part also, the researchers will reinforce
the research gap after reviewing related studies and literature as well as further
reinforce the point of the study trying to address this gap. In this part the
researcher will also establish the relationships between the literatures and
studies being reviewed and the objectives of the study.)
Theoretical Framework
(In this part the researcher will present 1 or 2 theories that supports the study.
The discussion will include what the theories is all about, who are the major
proponents, what are its main assumption or tenets and more importantly, how
are these theories supporting your study?)
Conceptual Framework
(In this part, the researcher will present a visual diagram or any graphical aid that
will show the relationship between and among variables. The researchers will
then explain the conceptual framework and how such framework supports the
assumptions of the study.)
GUIDELINES IN WRITING THE INTRODUCTION
1. Make sure that in the writing in the paper, relevant reference materials are
gathered to help you established the context and background of the study.
2. Don’t forget to proper properly cite the documents using APA format.
3. Utilize descriptive narrative approach in writing, take note that the chapter
1 basically sets the over-all context of your paper. Thus, it is important to
establish clarity and understandability of the topic as well as a clear
definition of the variables involve in the study. Also make sure that the
introduction part will lay out clearly the objectives for conducting this study.
4. Document format are as follows:
