Axminster Industrial Series P30/2200 Panel Saws

Not every trade workshop needs a large panel saw dominating the workspace, but a compact, fully featured saw is a tempting alternative. The Axminster Industrial Series P30/2200 does just that, having a robustly constructed chassis in heavy gauge steel and generous grey cast iron table. This is a sturdy chassis that gives stability and vibration free running. The 305mm main blade gives a maximum depth of cut of 90mm. The saw blade is carried on a heavy duty spindle ensuring accurate blade control and is driven by a multi V type belt which ensures quiet operation with high reliability. A 120mm scoring blade is standard, easily adjusted or withdrawn below the table by simple hand controls. There are two options available; 230V 1ph or 415V 3ph, both are 2.2kW. These high efficiency motors will give more than ample power for the toughest of tasks, they are cool running and have a brake for safe stopping. A 2,200mm sliding table is a standard fitting, very smooth running, carries a sizeable crosscut table and includes a telescopic mitre fence complete with length stops. The crosscut table is easily removed if required, saving space when not needed. Rear outfeed and right hand support tables are included, giving a sizeable working area for sheet work. The cast iron handwheel controls are smooth to operate and have retracting handles to save them being knocked. Efficient dust control is via a direct dust chute and ensures clean operating when connected to a suitable extraction system. This saw has all you could require in a small but busy workshop, or in a school preparation area. The main saw blade is not supplied, please make your selection from the blades listed or from our Blades Section. (N.B. The Overhead Crown Guard Kit is to be recommended for increased safety and more efficient dust collection).

Overhead Crown Guard Kit

This Overhead Crown Guard is an accessory to fit the Axminster P30/2200 model. It offers much improved protection for the user as well as much superior dust collection and ease of use of the saw. The HSE recommend the use of guards of this design due to the greater safety for the user, it is simple to fit and is a great enhancement.

Axminster Industrial Series P305/2500 & P305/3200 Panel Saw

This is a great range of mid sized panel saws designed for ease of use and the high accuracy cutting of board materials of all types. With a choice of 2,500mm or 3,200mm x 360mm sliding tables which are robust and smooth running, these giving a 2,400mm or 3,100mm capacity before the blade. A crosscut frame supports the larger boards and a mitre fence with a telescopic extension and two flip-over length stops is fitted. Unusually, offering a choice of main blade size between 305-355mm giving a maximum depth of cut at 115mm at 90. A 120mm scoring blade powered by a separate motor is standard, giving the finest of cuts on faced materials. The main table is a rigid, precision ground, cast iron surface of 548 x 896mm supported by a welded steel chassis, powder coated for long term protection. A cast iron rip fence body with fine width adjustment is complemented by a long, alloy extrusion fence arm, all running on a solid 40mm chromed steel rail. Rear out feed and side extension tables are standard, along with a work clamp, handle and edge shoe for the sliding table. We do recommend the use of the optional Overhead Crown Guard when using the larger 355mm blades. Please choose your main saw blade from the selection below. Axminster Industrial Series D405A/3200 Panel Saw

This is a new design of large panel saw featuring a 3,200mm long sliding table of 395mm width with a four track bearing system for extra stability and smooth running. This sliding table is easily and completely adjustable to make sure it runs true to the blade, so complete accuracy is guaranteed. Able to crosscut up to 3,100mm and rip cut up to 1,300mm against the fence this saw has prodigious capacities for all your board work. Powered by a 5.5kW 415V motor for the main blade and a separate 0.75kW motor for the scoring blade this machine is very well powered as standard. The blade rise and fall is motorised, as is the blade tilt. A digital read-out enables accurate blade height and tilt setting every time. A very generously sized cast iron main table with its outfeed and side support tables gives a large working area, unimpeded by the overhead saw blade guard system. The exceptionally rigid cast iron rip fence holder features a micro adjustment system and a rigid alloy extrusion rail, all mounted on a solid chromed bar and held by cam locks. An optional fence fitted with a Digital Read-Out (DRO) can be fitted for improved accuracy of setting between the rip fence and blade.
Crosscut table
As you would expect, the chassis is of heavy welded steel construction and powder coated for long term protection. A panel saw is the machine at the heart of any professional workshop and this saw would win its place in all but the largest workshop. Supplied complete with 3,200 x 395mm sliding table, scoring blade, overhead crown guard, crosscut fence, mitre fence and work hold down clamp. Safety Speed Cut C4 Panel Saw
The C4 vertical panel saw is a useful addition to any small or medium workshop where sheet material is regularly processed. Vertical operation makes handling of the sheets much easier as well as saving valuable floor space. The saw can be secured permanently to a wall or moved around with the aid of the optional wheels and either the fixed or the folding stand. It can also be transported in the back of a van for site use. The saw unit with its 44.5mm depth of cut and 1,600W motor is fixed to a mounting plate which slides up and down the two guide bars, supported by a spring recoil device. Vertical cuts are made by positioning the sheet in the correct position on the frame and moving the saw blade down through the sheet; horizontal cuts are made by rotating the saw unit through 90, locking it in the correct vertical position and moving the sheet through the blade. Rollers on the lower rail ease the passage of the sheet through the saw and there are wheeled extensions available for the bottom rail to allow 2,440 x 1,220mm(8 x 4) sheets to be safely processed. The saw comes fitted with a mid-way fence which makes the handling of narrower width boards much more convenient. The two horizontal timber supports on the mid-way fence are secured in place with quick release cam clamps which allow the supports to be removed in a few seconds when full depth sheets are to be cut. The mid-way fence is fitted with a precision stop for accurate repeat length cutting. Other accessories available are: (a) a sliding dust extraction kit with a 6.5m hose which slides over the rollers at the top of the machine as the saw moves up and down, (b) a multiposition length stop which allows for up to eight pre-set lengths to be set and (c) a hold down bar with support fingers and non marring rollers for use when cutting thin materials such as Perspex. A package consisting of the basic saw with the mid-way fence together with the fixed stand, wheel set and sliding dust kit is available at a small cost saving over the individual items. Please note that a fine toothed blade is now supplied as standard with the saw. An additional blade suitable for cutting non-ferrous materials is also available.
Picture shows the mid-way fence with support boards fitted, these can be removed very quickly if required. Note the stop and scale that allows for quick and precise setting to be made.

Axminster Industrial Series TSCE-12R 305mm Table Saw

This is a small industrial quality circular saw, primarily designed for rip work, compact in size but of very robust construction. Based around an all welded steel base with a heavy, finely ground, all cast iron table and amply powered by a mechanically braked induction motor. A small sliding table of cast iron running on an adjustable bearing system, complete with a simple mitre fence and a sliding support arm is a standard fitting, ideal for small boards or panels. This easily folds down out of the way if not required, saving space in the workshop. An extremely rigid rip fence with cam action clamps, comprising a cast iron housing with an extruded alloy fence rail giving a max capacity of 620mm to the blade is also standard. The power/saw head is mounted in a very rigid cast iron frame, the adjustments for rise and fall and blade tilt are via large, chromed steel hand wheels which are exceptionally smooth in operation. The handwheels also have in-built locking facilities. Dust extraction is via a rear mounted 100mm port and a connection hose to the crown guard. A conveniently mounted switch box has a locking emergency stop button and features overload protection and individual phase fused protection. Axminster Industrial Series TSCE-400R-1 400mm Table Saw

This saw is a larger version of our TSCE-12R table saw, having the same basic design but remaining quite compact in size and extremely robust. Available as a basic rip saw model, this machine is constructed around a heavy gauge welded steel chassis with a heavily braced cast iron table of very generous proportions. The 5.6kW 415V 3ph motor drives the 400mm blade giving ample power even at the maximum 130mm depth of cut. There is a 680mm width of cut from blade to fence, the rip fence being a heavy cast iron base running on a solid steel bar with fine width adjustment and a deep section alloy extrusion sliding fence rail. Fitted with cam lock clamps, this fence will remain in place even under arduous cutting conditions. A heavy duty cast iron mitre fence running in a T slot is provided. There is a full overhead crown guard provided for full blade protection, complete with excellent provision for dust extraction. The saw motor/arbor frame is a massive casting providing rigidity and vibration damping qualities, all adjustments to the blade height and tilt being made by the extra large cast iron hand wheels. The hand wheels also have built in locking facilities to prevent movement of the blade from the settings made, and are exceptionally smooth in operation. A conveniently situated switch box has a locking emergency stop button, features overload protection and individual phase fuses. A separate foot operated emergency stop switch is conveniently situated to provide extra operator safety. Supplied with a 400mm diameter, 28T rip blade. An ideal saw for producing large frames for roofing, joists, gate posts or processing other heavy timbers. There are two extra options that can be added to the basic saw: 1. A large right hand extension table, complete with a longer rip fence rail and extension to the overheard crown guard. This will give up to 1175mm width of cut from blade to fence. There is also a lower storage platform for materials etc. 2. A simple sliding table kit, comprising an alloy extrusion sliding table, and a cross cut table with a telescopic support leg. This is easy to fit, fully adjustable and will give 1360mm before the blade. It also has a mitre fence rail with a flip over length stop.

The Premium range is from 254mm to 400mm and is aimed very much at the professional and industrial user. Basically manufactured in the same way, each plate is ground to an exceptional standard of accuracy, having a blade run-out of no more than 0.10mm on the very largest size. The TCT tips are made from Luxembourg Carbide, known for its consistent quality, CNC sandwich brazed to the plate and ground to a fine edge. Course toothed blades are alternate top bevel ground (ATB) whilst the finer toothed blades are top centre ground (TCG), ensuring the best performance for each application. The plate of the blade also has resin filled anti vibration slots. These greatly reduce the noise generated whilst cutting which must be a bonus for the saw operator and those nearby. These blades are recognised by the HSE as an invaluable method of reducing workshop noise. The Premium blades will give an exceptional cutting performance combined with a very reasonable price for such high technology blades.

These flat adjustable scoring blades will allow you to make different thickness cuts by increasing or decreasing number of spacer shims. The scoring saw is a standard fitting on several of the larger saw benches in our range, particularly those designed for cutting sheet material. The blade is fitted a short distance in front of the main blade and cuts a shallow groove on the underside of the board, preventing splintering on faced and veneered boards. This bandsaw has been designed for a workshop that requires a wood cutting bandsaw with the capability of occasional metal cutting, or vice versa. The VBS18MW is capable of cutting timber, ferrous and non-ferrous metals (using the correct blade). A two speed gearbox lets you choose the ideal cutting speeds for wood or metal, the three belts speeds giving 250, 450 or 820m/min or 20, 40 or 70m/min. Adjustment for the most suitable speed for efficient cutting is straight forward. The bandsaw is supplied with two chip trays for the separate collection of metal cutting swarf. A large hand wheel and rack system allows simple adjustment of the cutting height and there is an easy to read built-in cutting height scale. A floor standing morticer with a 25mm capacity. The unique screw and fast action nut allows the material clamp to be set across its length in seconds. With fully adjustable slideways the morticer has travel in both directions with lock on the fore and aft setting. This is a good, solid compact spindle moulder, built for professional use and based around a heavy gauge welded steel chassis that is powder coated for protection. The table is high grade cast iron, with a finely ground low friction surface and has a small cast iron sliding table that moves on precision bearings. These are a different style of dust extractor suited to specialist situations. In a cabinet style, they are quiet in operation, very mobile and completely self contained. Able to handle sanding dusts due to the multi piece filter system which has a manual shaker lever. A new design of impellor combines high efficiency with very low noise levels. Waste dusts are collected in a simple tray, easy to remove and empty. The inlet port can be located on either side or at the rear for convenience. A silencer can easily be added to the air outlet to reduce the noise even further. These extractors are not really suited to machines that produce large quantities of chips (a planer or thicknesser for example) but would be a great choice for school Design and Technology rooms, CNC routers, drum or pad sanders and other specialist machines. Retailing by tradition
Here at Axminster Tool Centre, we have always tried to offer our customers the widest range of machinery possible. Machinery and equipment suitable for industrial use is for us the hardest to source, having to balance many factors such as timely supply, potential productivity, high reliability and range of choice for the customer. We have also strived to offer a prime European brand, but with markets for machinery being severely afflicted in recent years, leading to the demise of many manufacturers, this has become difficult. Like Axminster, Griggio has invested to drive itself out of the recession and now is the right time to forge a partnership together. We will be displaying a broad range of Griggio machinery at our High Wycombe retail store with a smaller selection of machines at all of our other stores. Staff at each store will be trained and provided with all the information needed to help our customers make a properly informed choice to meet their requirements. The Unica 350 panel saw is a robust and highly accurate machine, based around the 3,200mm sliding table and equipped with a 350mm diameter blade. A scoring blade system is fitted, this is fully adjustable to match the main blade. An overhead crown guard system is fitted for efficient dust extraction and enhanced operator safety. The Unica 400 DIGIT 3 panel saw has many features to enhance the workflow in a busy production workshop.
