Dr. Jassos Classes 102, 103, 109 Dr. Jasso February 24, 2012 Fundraiser and Extra Credit Opportunity

As previously announced, this fundraiser will benefit scholarship recipients toward the fees associated with our global programs. These programs include our annual trips to Oxford in March, China in June, Washington, D.C. and New York City in July, programs in development to Russia and Brazil as well as our trip next year to India. By participating you are eligible to earn up to 2% on your overall grade. In order to obtain the extra credit, one visit to CPK will equal one percentage point, thus two visits will equal 2%. In order for the fundraiser to receive the 20% donation, a flyer must be presented for each receipt (bill). The flyer is posted as a PDF file under course materials in blackboard. In order to receive the credit for your participation you must meet the following minimum requirements: You need to order a reasonable meal ordering a soda and asking for a receipt doesnt work. Use your best judgment as you order your meal. Your server will give you the original receipt at the time of payment; this is the only form of documentation which will allow you to receive credit for participating in this event. NO photocopying of receipts is allowed. This event is only valid at the Riverside California Pizza Kitchen location at Riverside Plaza; receipts from other locations will not be accepted. You may use the CPK take out as one of your meals I suggest calling in your order in advance. Upon completion of your participation, your original receipts must be stapled to a one-page (for one percentage point extra credit) or two-page (for two percentage points extra credit) commentary on California Pizza Kitchens marketing strategy, corporate responsibility, or strategic management. Select your theme based on the class in which you are enrolled. APA format, single spaced, 12 point font per page.

Direct participation is the only form of gaining this extra credit. It is over the course of 3 days, February 27, 28, and 29, where you may attend between the hours of 11:00am-10:00pm. It is important to know that you are representing UCR, the School of Business Administration and Dr. Jasso. That said, professionalism is expected. This includes tipping your server as you would wish to be tipped. If you are enrolled in more than one of Dr. Jassos classes, you cannot use the same receipts or written assignments for each class. You must determine where you wish to allocate the extra credit points and write separate commentaries. Should you wish to have 2% per class, enjoy eating at CPK four times. Please include the name of your TA and section number on your commentary. Your completed commentary and attached receipt(s) will be due in lecture on Monday, March 5 and Dr. Jasso will receive all documents associated with this program. We appreciate your participation in this important opportunity to generate scholarship funds for your fellow classmates. Enjoy your time at CPK and thank you for being excellent ambassadors of UCR. Stay strong, Dr. Jasso
